Toys and Games Reviews of LEGO Ultimate Building Set - 405 Pieces (6166)Customer Review: Great fun for grandkids Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this set of Legos for my grandkids to play with when they visit. The children that I purchased the set for were 6 and 10, at the time. Later, another set of grandkids, aged 8 and 5 visited and also enjoyed the set. It is able to provide hours of non-electronic fun. I have purchased the same set for the 5 year old and am thinking of another set for my house.
Customer Review: Lego Ultimate Building Set Summary: 4 Stars
I was initially disappointed with the small box and content. For $29.95 I expected more. However, I gave this as birthday present to my grandson (age 7). He told me the next day all of the things he built with the set, so I revise my initial thoughts to it's a great gift. Even though registered as 4+ he found it perfect as something he could do without adult help.
Customer Review: Probably for 6+ older... Summary: 3 Stars
For the most part this was a good toy. I got this for my 5 year-old on his birthday, but most of the pieces are a little too complex for him. Also, the base plate Lego that you build Legos on is way too small (may 3" X 3") to build things one. Lastly, the pamphlet shows great ideas on what you can build with the Legos, but only SHOWS you how to make about 10 of them.
Customer Review: Not so Ultimate Summary: 3 Stars
As the previous reviewer indicated, when you actually open the package its not as impressive as the size of the container would indicate. Sure its legos and they are fun but come on, if you are going to brand it as the 'Ultimate' give it a good amount. I also noticed the seller has it listed at 79.99. Give me a break it cost less than $25 at Target. What a ripoff!
Customer Review: Great starter kit..add to it this way Summary: 5 Stars
I agree that this is a great starter set. We added to it through garage sales and now have a wonderful set of Legos. Probably some began as specialized sets but now it's just a large tub full of pieces that let you build whatever you can imagine. We bring the Legos home from the garage sale, run them through a dishwasher cycle, and we're good to go.
