Customer Review: Neat, but NOT worth more than $12

To the best of my knowledge, there is no corresponding vehicle in the Star Wars universe on which this set is based. It looks like the guys at Lego were basically looking for an excuse to create an Imperial troop booster back and slapped this little ship together with as few spare parts as they could in order to make this set's cost comparable to other small booster sets. The design is kind of interesting and unique, given its detachable troop transport platform and the locking mechanism used to keep it attached to the little flyer. Beyond that, however, it's cheap, even for the 81 pieces it boasts. There's very little potential for variation on the design in order to make anything substantive.
My main complaint, however, comes at the time of my writing this review. At present, on February 25th, 2011, the set is priced at $44! FORTY FOUR DOLLARS? Really?! Comparable sets like the Star Wars Snow Trooper Army Pack (8084) sells, appropriately, for $12, as does the Star Wars Rebel Trooper Battle Pack (8083). Maybe, MAYBE, if you're absolutely desperate to build up the number of stormtrooper figures you have, this might be worth quarduple the price it should be... but there are many, many other sets out there that would undoubtedly allow you the same luxury and net you a much cooler ship (you know, one that actually was featured in one of the films?).
