Customer Review: Great playset, great pieces!

My 7 year old son just got the Loot Island Pirates set for his birthday, and it's fantastic! As a playset, it has lots going for it... it builds a neat little island where two pirates are guarding their treasure chest as a British army-type soldier approaches in a boat. Despite the soldier's cool cannon - which can really shoot a round stud brick with serious power - the pirates are likely to win, since little boys always like the bad guys best.
There are tons of great pieces in this set, which makes it an especially good buy if you like to take your sets apart to build custom layouts. My son was especially impressed with the dark green crocodile, the light-colored treasure chest loaded with jewels, the fish and new-style campfire flames, the boat, the island base, and of course the cannon. Overall, a great Pirates set and a great value!
