Toys and Games Reviews of LEGO Mindstorms NXTCustomer Review: This toy is awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I actually bought this for my husband, who has always loved Lego's (and regretted never getting Mindstorms as a kid). He requested the title of this review, so, as you can tell, he loves it. He's been like a kid in a candy store - playing with it, taking it apart, putting it back together to make something else, taking it apart again, making it walk around the room, etc. The programming software that comes with it is easy to use, and the computer tutorials are easy to follow. It's not my cup of tea, but if you've got a techie in the family (child or adult) that loves robotics, Lego's, or both, this is really hard to beat.
Customer Review: Great For The Right Kid/Parent Summary: 5 Stars
If your child has an interest in robotics, this is the right way to get started. There are numerous kits for building individual models but combining Legos (something all kids are familiar with), and sensors/motors/software makes this a real winner. This has really sparked my eight year old son's imagination. The kit is intuitive but just advanced enough that you can plan on working closely with your child - sort of a dying practice in our culture. It will take some learning on your part in order to keep this interesting and reinforcing. Plan on developing a healthy respect for people that design complex robotic systems.
Customer Review: LEGO Robot Summary: 5 Stars
LEGO Mindstorms NXT
Toy can teach children the basics of robotics and programming.
Younger children might need an adult suepervision for the assembly.
The duration of ordinary alcaline batteries is not very long and replacement of batteries within the assembled robot is somehow challenging.
Bluetooth connection provides increased facility of use. One has to be creative as to what surface to run the robot on. Precise motion control requires a smooth level surface.
Toy is worth it price.
Customer Review: Fun LEGO Mindstorn NXT Summary: 4 Stars
I bought it for my son (9 years old) as present as he is learning this robot in his robotic class as well. He just love it, he explores with the programming himself and we sit down and troubleshoot the problems he faced together. The tutorial is good enough for him to kick-start without my help, this is amazing. Other than fun, this is a good product for education and build up relationship. Frankly, I love it too, I never have chance to play this kind of toy at my age, only can imagine. Nothing bad to imaginaion, turning imagination to action is what we wants today. This is one small step, giant foot.
Customer Review: Where did my kid go........ Summary: 5 Stars
I am a software developer, and my boy is 10, I have been trying to get him into the fundimentals of basic programming without pushing him to much, but he hasnt shown much interest, I bought a NXT while working in the States, My kid is a Lego monster, his first step was to buy a box for all the commponents so they where in a ordered fashion, now hes disapeared for the last 5 days, hes writing his own programs, cursing and fixing when all goes wrong.., asking for help when hes really stuck, on the internet looking for solutions, this kit brings together so many skills.
Well Done Lego.
