Duplo blocks have been a favorite of our family for three decades. Our own children enjoyed playing with them so much that I couldn't wait to purchase a set for our little granddaughter. The updated colors (lime green, orange, white, and grass green) are wonderful and the clear blue blocks add to the imaginative possibilities. This basic set of Duplo blocks was offered at a good price. The tubs of blocks are convenient, but you get far fewer bricks for your money. I look forward to purchasing additional Duplo sets in the future to expand the creative options to include animals, "people", and other realistic shapes.Customer Review: Great first set

I got this set of Duplos for my baby nephew for Christmas. It's got a good assortment of bricks, including plenty of 2x4 and 2x2's, plus a few longer ones. It's a good first set of Duplos, and while you won't be able to make anything too fancy there's enough to make some basic things. I had both Duplos and Legos as a kid and they're still some of the best "toys" I've ever had. And if you didn't know, Legos and Duplos can actually work together; they're all accurately scaled. That way your child can move up to Legos and still incorporate the larger Duplo bricks for some really ambitious creations.Customer Review: Hurts to step on.

Pros: This is exactly what the kids wanted to add to their existing duplo collection. It brings out the kid in me when I play blocks with the kids. It's great to see the kids pretending with them.
Con: Sadly, so many pieces means that the kids will occasionally miss one during clean-up time. Maybe I'm just misdirecting my pain and suffering by lashing out at lego with a 4 star review, but it's really hard to not scream out in pain while stepping on one of these in the middle of the night. There has never been any lasting damage besides a little hurt pride.

Legos are the ultimate toy ever, and Duplos are just legos for little hands. They are a little bigger, easier to grip and easier to put together/take apart. Anyone who does not loge Legos is probably an evil, soulless monster.
OK, maybe that's a little harsh, but Legos are great toys! My son loves them. I buy a specific-build set for every gifty holiday, but this set is almost necessary to have enough blocks to get really creative with. Lot of blocks for the money.

I forgot how fun these were! This incredible large set is perfect for the first time builder, and my two-year-old cannot get enough. The first thing she made was a stick, then she brought me, no lie, a turtle! Complete with head, tail and domed shell. She loves that she gets rewarded by opening up yet another bag of new blocks. The price is comparable to larger retailers, but not the quantity. Definitely going to buy more when the little engineer requires more!
