Toys and Games Reviews of LEGO City Advent Calendar 2008Customer Review: Great Christmas fun for Lego Lovers! Summary: 5 Stars
I have three boys ages 12, 10 and 8 and all three love this Advent Calendar. It is educational for the younger two as they must determine what day of the month it is in order to determine which day to open. I make all three take turns so they enjoy putting their pieces together with their brothers' previous find. This is the third year we've done this and I will continue to purchase this calendar every Christmas. Healthier and longer lasting than chocolate advent calendars and a lot more fun!
Customer Review: A Pre-Christmas Must for any young boy! Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased this for my 4 1/2 year old son and he LOVES it. He can't wait to get up every morning to see the new toy (even when he is still half asleep he drags the box out). The box is a little flimpzie and the numbers are very hard to see. Great learning tool for my son to learn the higher numbers. The toys are great and easy for him to build on his own. A little high on the price but would purchase again next year worth the money to see his little face smile and glow each morning.
Customer Review: Great Fun Summary: 5 Stars
My three-year old loved this! He would come into our room every morning and say, "What door do we open today, Daddy?" The pattern seems to be opening one mini-figure on day 1, then the next 2-3 days opening parts of an accessory that completes the mini-figure. For example, one day we opened a Lego chef, then the following day a small table with pizzas, and the third day a brick oven for baking the pizzas. The only drawback: no Santa Claus figure! But we did get Frosty the Snowman.
Customer Review: moderate fun Summary: 3 Stars
I ordered this item for my 6 year old son. I was disappointed in the value of this calender. First off, many of the toys for the days were no more than a little lego man. For my son who is in to building things, they didn't hold his interest for long. There were a few build it type little things that we didn't have any idea what they were (a fire pit, umbrella?). There were maybe 3-4 items that were half decent to build (snowmobile, stove) but at $30 I expected much more.
Customer Review: Not what I expected. Summary: 3 Stars
I was very disappointed after receiving this LEGO product. The box shows this fabulous Christmas scene. Seeing this picture on my computer screen, I thought it would have lots of LEGO doors and that you could build this scene from the parts you found everyday. No, the cardboard box has the doors in it. When you poke through you find tiny pieces that you can put together. It doesn't really make the scene it shows on the box. I expected a lot more from a LEGO product.
