Customer Review: PERFECT gift for a Legomaniac

Best pre-Christmas gift EVER!! My 7 year old son is a "legomaniac" and LOVED this Advent Calendar. He had been obsessing over it on-line and in the Lego magazines so we ordered it for him. And it was well worth it!! He sprung out of bed every morning to open and put together the new day's toy. He had fun guessing what would come the next day to go with what he got today/yesterday.
So much easier than traditional advent calendars. Lego does all the work for you...fun, exciting gifts each day!
I hope Lego comes out with a few more versions so we can buy them for the next few Christmases to come!!

I was excited when our 2008 Advent Calendar (7724) arrived, as our daughters enjoyed the 2006 one I bought. However, I was disappointed with this product. First, there are no pictures to show what the individual kits are (beyond the assembly picture). Many are obvious but some are difficult to determine what they are. For example, I have no idea what the kit on Dec 20 is, and there are no pictures to show how it is used. Secondly, the perforations on the doors on individual days are not good. Most times it actually rips the whole section off. This product falls far below Lego's exceptionally high design standards.Customer Review: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

My son's birthday happens to be on the first of December, and this is the best birthday gift ever. It gives him almost a month of anticipation and excitement. He loves to search for the numbers and open the doors.
I got the 2007 calendar from Amazon last year for $20, so I was a bit disappointed to see the price so high this year. Maybe it was cheaper because I ordered and received it a couple of days late. It definitely is very expensive for the amount of pieces you get, but the value lies in the happiness and thrill your child gets each day as he opens the doors.
I definitely recommend!

This is going to be a new tradition in our family. We love legos and to get a new set each day is awesome. Well worth the price since you get 8 mini figures.
My sons take turns opening each day to find a new lego set to put together. Number 1 was a mini figure with at turkey leg. They love it. Even though they play with legos together, I let them keep what they find on their day and it is such fun watching them open them. The one who is only watching gets just as excited as the one doing the opening. I even heard them discussing swapping chores if they could swap mini figures.

I have two boys (9 and 7), and they shared the calendar, taking turns every other day. They REALLY enjoyed it, and it was a lot of fun. We typically do Lego Star Wars or race cars, so Lego "city" was new for us. The boys had a great time discovering the Lego set behind that day and then trying to find it on the calendar box (kind of like "I Spy"). My boys said, "this is the best Advent calendar ever!" We will definitely order it again, and the $30 we spent was less than we would have spent trying to fill up an Advent Calendar for 2 boys for the month. Thanks, Lego!
