Customer Review: Disappointment

Wow, what a let-down. Looks like Lego is cynically banking on people collecting these things, regardless of their intrinsic interest or value. My 7-year old made it in 5 minutes, so the 10+ designation is ridiculous. It is small, and lacking in any architectural character or detail. It veers significantly from the original building, and the "interpretation" loses all the charm and interest from the original, dynamic and cool building. This is a small, beige underwhelming model. I know there's a ton of fuss out there over these, but it is not warranted. We got the seattle space needle too, and it's a big disappointment as well.
Should say that we are usually delighted with the quality of Legos and by the fun details they include in their products, so the negative surprise was even more so.
The best thing about them is the box - very nicely designed and with good photos of the actual building. But that just sets up the dissonance between the real and the toy even more. Get something else!
