Toys and Games Reviews of Harry Potter Lego House of Gryffindor Set 4722Customer Review: House of Gryffindor---#4722---68 pcs Summary: 4 Stars
"Password?" "Caput Draconis!" This set is ok, except for the colors. The oranges, pinks, turquioses, and darker oranges are absurd! This doesn't capture the true color of the world of Harry Potter. The set however, is cool. You get a Ron figure in normal day wear, a scabber rat, a gray owl, the spinning portrait of the Fat Lady(just like the Hogwarts Castle, a "squashy arm chair"(though it isn't red like in the story), a lamp, books, and cabinet to keep stuff in, and the coolest part of this set: the four poster bed. The bed is cool, cause the veil is red decorated with stars, and made of the same material as the mini figures' capes. The bed has a nice, soft yellow cloth, which is the blanket, and does have its four posters! The set includes a backdrop for two rooms so one rooms is the common room, and the other is the boys' dormitory. This set takes a good 10-15 minutes to put together with the detailed instuctions. This set is ok, and is good to have if you want to get the whole collection like myself. I mean, where is Harry and Ron going to sleep? By the way, there should be more beds, and not only one. Where will Harry, Neville, Dean Thomas, and Seaman Finnigan going to sleep as well?
Customer Review: House of Gryffindor! Summary: 5 Stars
When I saw this item, I bought both it and the Diagon Alley set right away. It's just what I needed. When Ron, Hermione, and Harry want to plan something, do homework, or play wizard chess, they head straight to the common room. Then, after completing their homework, they go to bed. This set is a nice touch, especially if you're getting the whole collection. I love how it comes with books, the bedside cabinet, Scabbers, an owl, the fat lady portrait, the bed with scarlet curtains, etc. I could go on! The colors are not the best, but when you consider that the Gryffindor colors are scarlet and gold, I see where they're coming from. Even if you're not a huge Harry Potter fan, this set can add a lot to any legos you have. The only real downside of this set is that there's only one bed and only one chair in the common room. Overall, I think that this is a great set for all ages.
Customer Review: "Password' Summary: 3 Stars
This is a preaty cool set. The omly thing is it only comes with Ron and not Harry or Hermiony. The coolest part is the bed . The canopy is the coolest. When you swing the fat lady turns around it turnes into a fireplace witch is preaty cool. It is a little expensive though. I liked how it came with the books. I like making ron study for the dreaded potions finals. The colors are realy wiered for a Gryffindor house set though. The background is very cool. The good thing about this set is that it only takes maby 10 to 20 minutes to make. I rated it 2 for education because it realy isn't educational. I rated 3 for fun because I am not the biggest Lego fan so I hardly ever play with it. All in all I think if you have a realy big Harry Potter fan this would be an ok set to get.
Customer Review: Barbie Goes to Hogwarts Summary: 1 Stars
My 9 y.o. son got this set for Christmas, along with several others. His first reaction was "there's a lot of pink!" This set (along with the Diagon Alley and Hogwart's classroom sets, which share the garish color scheme) seems to be a shameless pandering to little girls, but somehow I don't think even the most diehard Barbie girls envision Ron Weasley's room done up in pink, tangerine, and turquoise.... The other sets in this series, with the more appropriate grey color scheme, are wonderful and my son is having a great time with them. This one will probably be given away as he's embarrassed to have it. My advice: don't buy this one unless a child has seen it and asked for it!
Customer Review: A good idea executed poorly Summary: 4 Stars
With all the sets I have there are multiple rons. Which of course is great because they can all double as Ron's brothers. This is one of three sets (the others being Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Classroom) that uses bright neon orange and pink pieces. I really wish they had two beds instead of one to play out Harry and Ron's rooms. So I bought two of the same set. This set also comes with Scabbers, a bit of luggage, some books and a large chair. The best feature really is the bed with its cloth canopy and small yellow blanket. I wish it could have been different but all in all its a good set -- durable and educational as all legos are.
