Toys and Games Reviews of Large KitchenCustomer Review: 5-star kitchen for 5-star kids Summary: 5 Stars
As my kids began to outgrow their Discover Sounds kitchen, I began scouting around new kitchens. I checked out the many plastic molded kitchens, but opted to go the wood kitchen route. Of the wood kitchens, this is far and away the nicest, best equipped, and most attractive kitchen I've found. The sink is removable and can actually be filled with water. The faucet swivels, the clock hands are movable, there are two shelves in the cabinet beneath the sink for storage, two shelves in the refrigerator (in addition to the freezer compartment on top), and a white grooved shelf in the oven that serves as the removable oven rack.
There is room for lots and lots of playfood, dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small appliances. I love that the color scheme is suitable for both boys and girls, and much more appealing than the more institutional-looking wood kitchens.
The assembled kitchen is approximately 42" wide X 43" high X 16" deep (excluding handles and knobs). It took my husband and I over an hour to assemble, and as each additional piece gets attached, it locks the piece together very solidly.
There is room for multiple children to play simultaneously, as my children often do. It is a major piece of our playroom, and an integral part of my kids' day-to-day play.
Customer Review: This is so delightful and well made! Soooo Pretty too! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the model with the refrigerator and phone for my granddaughter and it is so precious! I was expecting something screwed together and flimsy but KidKraft uses metal screw plugs (I can't remember what they are really called) to put this together and it is very sturdy and the screws won't strip out the pressed wood. (It does weigh 80#s!) The hardware that is used to put this together is all organized in a little tray so it was very easy for me to find what I needed, normally you have to spend the first hour sorting out the screws. The directions are pretty easy to follow, I only had problems figuring out how to attach the top but it only took me a few minutes to get it right. I am a woman who has my own tools so I tackled this project by myself and it took me a couple of hours, if I had had help it probably would have been completed much more quickly. (I do recommend tearing off the page with the tray items to keep handy so you aren't constantly flipping back to that page since you need the tray items on every step.) My granddaughter's eyes lit up when she saw it and she played in there for hours (she will be three in January and loves to play pretend). This is such a cute addition to her girly room and I simply love the pastel colors. I love the quality and the design. Perfect!
Customer Review: Excellent toy even for older girls Summary: 5 Stars
I did not buy my 6 (will be 7 in 2 months) year old daughter a kitchen set last year because, although she wanted one, most of the models were so small I thought she would out grow it quickly. This year she still wanted one, and I am having another baby girl in 2 weeks! So I thought even if she didn't play with it too much, it will get used eventually. I chose this KidsKraft large kitchen and it is HUGE hit with her and her 7 year old best friend. They are not too old or too big for this. It does take some time to put it together - just make sure you read the directions and don't let your husband just try to "figure it out." I was up till the wee morning hours Christmas putting this together even though I am supposed to be on bedrest! But I enjoyed it. Sounds crazy, but I enjoyed watching it all come together for my daughter. also It is an EXCELLENT way to store all of those plastic food items and play dishes and pots and pans. I also got the wooden blender and it fits perfectly in the storage cubby over the sink. Great looking piece for the play room, too. But for now it is still in the family room! SUPER buy - great price. I'm sure it will be in our house for many years to come bringing fun and good times to our daughters and their friends. BUY THIS!
Customer Review: Kitchen has it all! Summary: 5 Stars
We have had this kitchen in our home for two years. Our daughter is 6 now and the kitchen is still a popular toy. This kitchen is amazingly sturdy. In fact, we had a 6 gallon fish aquarium sitting on it at one time without a problem!
This kitchen in well made and it looks nice, so much better than the plastic versions. My daughter previously had a plastic kitchen that talked. Do not worry about it not having that capability - my daughter has never even mentioned she missed that feature!
My husband put this together on Christmas Eve, as Santa was to leave this.
Please allow enough time to get this together. Probably not a good idea to wait until Christmas Eve! He was so tired and it was so late by the time he got it together, he left it in our bedroom. Needless to say, our daughter woke up before us (you know how excited kids are on Christmas Day!) and found her kitchen in our bedroom! Of course, she didn't mind at all, she was (and still is) elated with the kitchen. Hmmm, we still can't figure why Santa left it in OUR room? That Santa.
Melissa and Doug have some wonderful WOODEN items that go well with the kitchen. You must pick up their play food and some kitchen accessories!!
GREAT ITEM!!!
Customer Review: This is one AWESOME kitchen Summary: 5 Stars
I just ordered this kitchen for my daughter as she has outgrown her old one. I am nothing but impressed with it's quality. It takes a few hours to assemble but once it's together is sturdy and solid.
It has lots of room for storage, plenty of cabinets and doors, a swivel faucet and turning knobs for "hot" and "cold" water. The sink is removable, which equals easy to clean in case someone decides it's a good idea to pour their juice down the drain. (I won't mention anyone in particular here, but she's about two feet tall with brown hair...)
The color scheme is pleasing, pastel pinks blues and yellows. It looks great in our living room, another piece of furniture. It's large enough for my daughter and her friend to play side by side and not fight over territory (they're only two after all...)
Then there's Kidkraft- excellent assembly instructions, easy to read, helpful customer service. The Fed-ex guy must not have eaten his wheaties the day he delivered the kitchen, because he dropped it, breaking two of the major pieces of the kitchen. Kidkraft replaced those pieces free of charge, no hassel.
I am 100% impressed!
