I felt like such a good jewish mother when I got this toy! I bought it for the menorah (he loved playing with our real menorah) but I had no idea how much he would love the pan and spatula! My son is 20 months old, and its perfect for him right now. The puzzle part (putting the candles in the pegs) is just right. There is no "wrong" hole" and he doesn't have to turn the peg to fit it in the slot like other puzzles. My favorite thing is that he does pretend play with it. He has one candle light the others while he makes kissing noises. When he is done, he exclaims "ah men!" SO cute! I can see that he will enjoy this toy in future years, especially the dreidel part which he doesn't yet understand. I would recommend this for any child's first hanukkah. We got this kit for my 2.5 year old son and 14 month old daughter. The menorah is terrific - it has nine candles, and nine flames, and the kids can put them together, and 'light' the right number on the right night. The menorah is sturdy and just right for small hands. The flipper, pan and latkes are also the right size and durable. The dreidel and few coins are too big and clumsy, and there are not enough coins to really play. (everything is made of wood in this kit). The directions for playing dreidel are wrong (letters with game rules are mixed up). This is a great kit, though, and you can just go buy those cheapie plastic dreidels elsewhere. This is a great Chanukah gift for a toddler. We gave it to our two year old grandson, and it allowed him to pretend to light the chanukah candles safely while we lit the real ones. The menorah is sturdy and well made, out of wood. The candles fit in nicely and then the flames are attached to sticks that fit into the candles. The candles are different colors, so that has educational value. The kit also comes with pretend latkes and a fry pan. Included is wooden chanukah gelt, although my grandson is too young to understand that. This gift allows him to pretend to light the menorah and will be good for the next few years until he is old enough to light the real thing.Customer Review: Like a 3D Puzzle

We received this item for Channukkah this year and it was the only gift my two year old daughter wanted to play with. She absolutely loves it for she can light the candles indepedently without worries of getting burned. She asks us if we are ready to light the candles and she gets her menorah and does it all by herself. She receives great pride and confidence from this item. It's great pretend play, which makes this item fantastic. It's like a 3D puzzle, which she enjoys for extended amount of time. A must have for your household.Customer Review: Great Hannukah Gift!

My two year old loves this Hannukah set. He learned the words "dreidel", "menorah" and "hannukah" from playing with it. The toy is a bigger than I thought it would be. It looks small in the photo, but it is a very nice size and a very sturdy, well made toy. He loves "lighting" the menorah, and cooking his latkes. He is quite rough with his toys and this has really stood up to being dropped, washed, thrown and everything else a two year old does to a toy. I plan on purchasing the passover and shabbos sets for him as well.
