I originally purchased a box of the Knex Pals for my 2.5 year old daughter. Although she looked at the pieces, she is too young to build much, and certainly not any of the models included on the poster. I was wonderfully surprised when my 6.5 year old son picked up the box and played for a very long time. He has always had a great imagination and loves animals and then his 8.5 year old brother started playing with these Knex too. Then we didn't have enough for 3 children to build and not argue over special pieces, so I bought 3 different types of boxes (each one with the word pals in it). It's been 2 weeks and they all are still playing with these Knex Pals every day. Lots of pieces may drive some moms nuts, but I make the kids pack them all up or orgainze them neatly at the end of the day. This toy was exactly the kind of building toy I hoped for.
