Toys and Games Reviews of Pokemon Mini Plush - Diamond & Pearl (5 Inch) - BUNEARYCustomer Review: Well, if you're a REALLY big fan of Buneary it's ok... Summary: 3 Stars
Buneary's a Pokemon my daughter's wanted for a few months, but since she was part of an older wave, it was only available online, and overpriced like most older mini plush. But now Buneary's come back as part of the newest wave of mini plush, and we got one the minute we saw it at the store. But once I really got a look at it, Buneary didn't look all that cute to me. The design of the Pokemon in the games and animated series is cute of course, but the translation to plush form...eh...
Like most of the mini plush from the last couple of waves, Buneary is extremely well-made, and there's not a single thing on her that could easily be torn off. The head, arms and feet are made of the usual material (I think it's fleece) mini plush Pokemon are made of, and the body and ear fuzzies are poofy. If you've ever seen a plush sheep or lamb, that's exactly the look they were going for here...and it doesn't look that great. I don't know if it's just because it's a different material or what, but this Buneary looks like it was put together from two different stuffed animals. It just looks weird when you have it in your hand. I'll put up a picture in the customer images above so you can see for yourself. Buneary also can't stand up on her own, which isn't a big deal since a lot of mini plush Pokemon cant', but I've met some people who refuse to buy them if they can't stand up on their own, believe it or not. Her eyes, eyebrow dots, nose, mouth and pink pads on her feet are sewn in. I don't care for the super wide smile she's sporting- if it were trimmed down by even 25% it'd look better, but that's just me.
If you or your child are huge fans of Buneary, I'd go with the bigger talking plush over this one since it looks better [but not by much]. My daughter loves this version, and that's all that matters in the end, but I collect some of these myself, and I gotta say that poor Buneary is one of the worst I've seen in a long time. Great quality, but it just looks off.
