We successfully made one tray of bugs, then part of the oven "door" broke....the part that engages the oven to work! I found the piece, and planned to take the oven apart to superglue the piece back on, only to discover that what looked like flat-head screws were metal pieces that couldn't be removed whatsoever. So, I tried jury rigging it to get it to stay in the "on" position so we could turn it on by just plugging it in. Well, that wouldn't work because the oven door, which wouldn't engage the lever, controls the ability to slide the on/off switch. I wish they had made the part of the door that engages the toy to work from metal rather than cheap plastic that any kid (including mine) can break by being too forceful. I have very fond memories of making "bugs" when I was a child and was happy to see this product resurface. You need to buy a lightbulb (not included). This is really a time-consuming process, each individual batch takes several minutes to cook, then even longer for the oven to cool down so you can open it. I wasn't supervising close enough on the first go around, and my oldest forced the door open, breaking it. I was able to superglue the piece back on and it works again, but with such long wait times, it was hard to hold the kid's interest. I'm still glad I bought it, and I even ordered the Spongebob mold set, but I think I'll be the one encouraging the kids to get it out rather than the other way around.Customer Review: Don't Buy This Terrible Toy

This is one of the worst toys I have ever ordered. I ordered this because I had Creepy Crawlers as a child. It is not like Creepy Crawlers was in that it is made very poorly. My husband and I spent hours trying to get it to work but it never worked. We realized it is not really made to work well or in our case at all. There is no customer service for this company. I can see why. This is a complete waste of money and I do not think Amazon should not even sell it. I had to throw it out. Of course it was very frustrating for the children when it did not work after hours of trying and attempts to try to find out how to get in touch with customer service.Customer Review: Creepy Fun That Lasts.

As a Christmas gift my kds love this one! I had a similar product growing up in the 70's and 80's and wanted my kids to experience the same fun I had. The overall product is a little fragile but as long as yo treat it with care it lasts for a long time. We have had ours now for 7 months and the kids have continued their learning process of following directions and being paient as well as safety procedures from the heat. However, the manufacturer has provided necessary equipment to be safe. We mix colors of goo and create some of the coolest creaures and I highly suggest for you to experience the same fun with your kids.Customer Review: My kids LOVE this! Need more goop!

I bought this for my son for Christmas and all four of my kids love it. They've used up all the "goop" and we have a pile of creepy-crawlies which they are having lots of fun with. It's easy and the results are really impressive. I didn't think the lack of a light bulb was a big deal. So, the kids had to wait a day for dad to pick up a bulb. Whatever. It was worth the wait. The kit really is neat. Kids love creating things and little boys are wow-ed by the nifty results. Very creepy little critters. I'm here on Amazon shopping for some refills so the kids can continue their fun.
