Toys and Games Reviews of Eyeclops Bionic Eye Multizoom, GreenCustomer Review: I wanted to like it... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this toy for my 3 boys (ages 8, 5, & 3). I had read all of the wonderful reviews on Amazon and decided to order it for a Christmas gift. Then I saw the same item at Target for $29.99 so I bought it there instead. My boys do not seem to be that interested in it. They used it for about a total of 15 minutes in the past 4 days. I tried using it and just can't get it to focus properly. It's not so easy to use. We examined simple items like snow, carpet, cat hair, fabric, fingernails and other household items. It was somewhat interesting but the novelty wore off quickly. I don't know if I would purchase this item if I had to do it all over again. Ours hasn't broken but it does not seem to be super sturdy.
Customer Review: Impressive fun and educational toy! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this for my daughter as a Christmas gift. She, my wife, and I all LOVE it. We looked at everything within reach of the cable's length with this Bionic Eye. What we couldn't reach, we brought to it! It's simply impressive. Just a few things we looked at- carpet, socks, dog hair, human hair, skin, salt, pepper, sugar...
We leave the zoom feature on 100 because we can't really see very clearly with the stronger settings. I don't think it's a defect, I just don't think we've figured it out yet. The plastic piece that rotates for the focus feature seems a little flimsy, but it has held up just fine so far.
Highly recommended toy and tool. It will amaze and teach you and your child.
Customer Review: fun and educational Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this for my 9 year old disabled son for Christmas...he really likes it, within minutes of opening the box he was scanning everything within a few feet of the TV. On the plus side its usable for older children, and has positive educational value. On the negative side, the cord prevents random experimentation, as everything must be viewable within feet of the TV screen the Eyeclops is connected to. In addition, its quite challenging for younger users to get the viewfinder to a good usable position to be able to adequately view the items they are looking at...overall, though, its fun, seems to be well made, offers lots of study opportunities...
Customer Review: Wow! How Fun! Amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
My 6 year old daughter received this last year for Christmas. When we get it out, it's all kinds of fun. You'll hear many sound effects - cool, ewwww, stuff like that. We put it on the carpet, our skin, furniture, toys, blankets, spices, etc. It's amazing. It's almost like a microscope - that you can take anywhere (as long as the cord reaches). My daughter has gotten it out at family gatherings and everyone is always amazed - and interested... "try it on this, focus on that" And it's handle and durability makes it a better option for kids than a microscope. Lots of fun and great price!
Customer Review: It's fun for a while, great for playdates! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a fun toy for a period of time, especially for groups of kids who want to look at everything they can possibly think of. Easy to share, since the picture is shown on your television. I give it four stars instead of three for that and the truly amazing fascination factor. After the kids run out of things to look at, though, the novelty is done. The package included a Pirate seek game that is fun, but of course once the child has found the "treasure," that is over as well. I wish it lasted longer, but right now it's in the box waiting to be rediscovered. Wait until it goes on sale!
