I purchased the eye clops a few months ago for my daughter and it was a big hit! Despite some reviews stating it is hard to use, I very much disagree. Compared to a "regular" microscope, this is easy to focus and use even for children. Simply turn the eye right or left and the item you are trying to view will either become clearer or fuzzy; if it becomes increasingly fuzzy, you simply turn in the opposite direction slowly until it comes into focus. The picture displayed on the television is fascinating to children and even adults. We have viewed bugs in live motion, our clothes, our skin, furniture...anything goes. My daughter is 9 and was exploring everything around her, without help in less than 30 minutes.Customer Review: Good teaching tool

Agree this toy is better for the over 7 age group. It could be a great teaching tool if an adult were to use it in front of a group of children, but alas they will want to play with it themselves. I say this because you do need the motor control to hold your hand steady and the patience to focus. Think of a microscope without the stand and slides, that is how detailed this focuses in on an object. After the kids had looked at everything within reach of the cord, the toy has been left alone sitting on a shelf. It does come with a plastic dish that you can put small items into for viewing, but it takes a lot of patience and interest in looking at things microscopically to engage younger children.Customer Review: Most Wonderful "Educational" Toy Ever!

My sons, ages 6 and 9, each received this for Christmas. It is SO AMAZING and they LOVE it! When we first hooked it up to the TV it fascinated them for hours! It comes with a pietre (sp?) dish and a clear cylindrical container that they can put smaller objects in to view. My boys put salt, snow, and dirt in right away. They had no problem focusing the objects, as some other reviewers have had. It is very durable as well. My son dropped it from about 5 feet up and I feared that it was broken for sure - but it isn't! We live in a small scientific town and they constantly receive "educational" kits and toys as gifts. This is the only one that they have ever been completely fascinated by!Customer Review: How hairy is YOUR face?!!!

The EyeClops is a very cool toy! It takes a little time to get used to adjusting the "eye" and we're still having a hard time seeing bugs and other outdoor items in the clear dish/cup because of the glare from the light on the plastic- a white piece of paper works best for us! We whipped it out of the package, ready to dazzle all the kids, only to lose their attention trying to get it adjusted!! Once you get it though, everyone is hooked and all you hear is... "Can I have a turn???" Color seems to come and go but is still fun in black and white! Adults have just as much fun (if not more!) than the kids. Hairy faces and toenails are sure to get everyone addicted to the EyeClops!Customer Review: This makes 3 since Christmas 2007 !

This is the third Jakks EyeClops we have purchased. Hope this one works..JUST KIDDING !! Seriously, the EyeClops(es) or EyeClops(i)...whatever.., we purchased for the grandkids at Christmas were a big hit with the kids and adults. Eyeclops is easy enough for our 6 yr. old to use. Set-up is the same as a "plug and play" device. Jakks (the makers of EyeClops) calls it a toy, but it is more than that. This purchase was for myself ! It is a magnifier (microscope)with excellent clarity, projected onto your TV screen. I've used it from finding a splinter in my finger to checking the blade edge on our Wustof kitchen knives! The price is the best part, considering what it can do.
