Toys and Games Reviews of EyeClops Bionic Eye Multizoom, Green

Customer Review: Cool enough that Mom likes it too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my 7-year-old daughter for Christmas this year. She had seen the advertisements on TV and thought it looked fun. The toy plugs into the TV just like any plug and play video game ... very easy to hook up. Once the eye is focused ... again a very simple operation if you follow the instructions provided ... you can see minute detail on anything. My daughter looked at nearly everything in the house on Christmas day ... including our two cats! It takes a little bit of practice to master exactly how to get a really good view of something, but after a couple of tries, it's quite easy and fun. We haven't used it for any kind of educational purposes yet. It's just a really cool toy that is completely different from anything else my daughter owns. If you have a curious child, this toy is a must-have!

Customer Review: Lots of fun but not for the faint of heart
Summary: 5 Stars

Got this for our 5-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son for Christmas. The adults loved it! We played with it for hours, checking out carpet fibers, our palms, our eyeballs, various nuts and the bubbles at the bottom of a beer bottle. The kids were much more interested in trains and dolls. And yes, our daughter, and some of the adults, were squeamish when we got close-up views of Uncle R.'s hair follicles ... So this is not for all kids.

I do worry a little that we have frightened our daughter away from microscopes forever, but I don't blame EyeClops for that. It is a very hardy toy, super easy to use. I'm glad we got it instead of the more complicated $100 microscopes that hook up to PCs.

I'm going to see if my daughter will let us bring our toy to visit her kindergarten classroom.

Customer Review: Fun idea
Summary: 4 Stars

We bought this for our 5 year old son as a birthday gift. This was VERY easy to set-up. It was nice that we didn't have to read a 20 page manual to figure out how it worked and my son was able to start exploring right away. My only complaint is that everything we looked at was the same bluish gray color. It didn't matter if we were looking at a penny or the hair on your arm-- there was no discerning color difference. We also had problems exploring anything alive. We tried to look at an ant, but it kept moving around inside the included container-- so it was impossible to focus on. I think as our son gets older, his curiosity to explore ore will grow. However, at this age his attention span is a bit short. So, we put it away for now but can easily set it up again when he's looking for something to do.

Customer Review: Enter a world of liliputians
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great "toy" for kids as well as adults. It takes some time to connect to your tv (I used a Panasonic 42" Plasma) and learn how to focus. The items can easily move out of focus so it takes a steady hand. However, the images are amazing! We were able to see stuff we wouldn't be able to see without the aid of a microscope (and we all know how difficult that is to use!). From denim to coins to skin (I couldn't believe all of the discolorations on my skin - I got a bit nervous that I should see a dermotologist. But when I looked at my arm without the Eyeclops, no possible cancerous growths were evident)

The Eyeclops is a great toy (tool) to use to explore a world we almost never get to see. Highly recommended (I ordered from Amazon for $40) but look for it on sale.

Customer Review: VERY COOL TOY, KIDS WILL HAVE FUN FOR HOURS
Summary: 4 Stars

My Son received the EyeClops Bionic Eye as a gift and it wouldn't work. We exchanged it and the second one works perfectly. It magnifies by 200 times so it is quite interesting to look at some things like gold, diamonds, hair, skin, small bugs, fabric. Some things are quite gross like looking at your carpet will make you want to break out the sweeper. This is the first day that we used it but I think my kids will really use it a lot. Our kids love catching lightning bugs & butterflies in the warmer months and I think it will be really cool for them to view them with the EyeClops Bionic Eye. They even have this cool vacuum especially for this purpose. EyeClops Bug Vacuum, Green
