Creepy Crawlers were a big hit back in the 60's, under the name "Thing Maker". The hot-plate back then was a lot less protected than todays device. Though I think the cooking temperatures may be simular. I was doubtful about how hot an oven would get using a light bulb, but the modern Creepy Cralwer device works pretty good and is much safer with built-in interlocks to prevent burnt fingers. I think the this new device is as much fun for a little kid, as the old one was back in my days.
I have enjoyed, as has my grandchilds mom and dad, watching the excitement of a little childs eye's as they create their very own little bugs. Of course have extra molds to make new things helps to keep the toy new all over again.
PS. Don't forget to order lots of extra goop for the molds, as I think you will find, you will need a lot, to keep up with the demand!
