My eight year old daughter was able to open this toy (which she really wanted), read the directions, set it up and execute it independently. And it worked. They came out just like the picture, and even have these cute little domes to harden under or, maybe give as gifts. I was actually surprised and thought this was a quality product. Not one to keep forever, but fun and does what is says it does.
The reason it gets four stars instead of five is that it only comes with two ring bases. This would have been so cute if it came with ten (they're plastic) to make and give away to her friends. We bought the accompanying refill set for her - and it gives you more stuff, and even some different cute candies - but no ring bases.
If they update this toy and supply more rings, would absolutely buy again and would make a great gift for girls around this age group
