Customer Review: Soft and sweet, but doesn't sing

We bought this for my 2-year-old daughter at Toys R Us. On the way home from the store, after she'd pressed the switch to activate the song about 30 times already, the song started cutting out halfway through. By the time we got home, it sang only the first few words. My husband took it back and replaced it, but when he gave it to our daughter, this second one took only a handful of times before it started to do the same thing. We decided to keep it, because it's still Barney, it's still soft and cuddly, and that's what means the most to our daughter. We also didn't feel like driving out to Toys R Us for the third time to buy a toy that seems to have a serious defect in workmanship. Our daughter's happy with it and laughs over the fact that Barney now only blurts out "I" when she activates the song, but I'd caution others to consider that they could easily get a lemon with this toy if music is what they're after.Customer Review: My son is a Barney fanatic

My son is 1 1/2 years old. He is truly obssessed with Barney amongst Curious George and Sesame Street. Literally from the moment he's awake , 7am until Barney and Friends comes on TV which is about 830am, he's cruising through out the house saying "BAH NEE... BAH NEE... BAH NEE!!" It was only appropriate that the Easter Bunny brought him the Barney I Love you Singing Doll. My son's Easter basket was the size of him filled to the rim with goodies. From the moment he laid eyes on the basket the only thing he cared about was Barney, he was stunned, shocked, and completey speechless for 2 mins. What a trip kids are when they get things they love. He loves this thing, it's very soft and crib friendly, we let him sleep with his purple buddy. Only complaint is that it's a lot smaller than we had imagined, other than that, it's awesome for the kids!Customer Review: Too small for me, but big enough to grand daughter

When we received the Barney we were all disappointed in the size of the doll. The pictures were misleading and I don't recall a size reference being part of the add, like some of the other dolls we were comparing it to. So I expected a larger doll based on the pictures and received an 11" or 12" doll. That being said, it didn't matter to our almost 2 year old grand daughter who adores Barney. It was just the right size to her and I quess with the way she tends to just take off and run with it in her arms, a bigger doll might cause her to be more unstable. So the choice turned out to be OK in the end, but I do beleive the description of the product should include a physical size reference.Customer Review: Very Disappointing

This toy is very very disappointing. It eats batteries like they are candy-- very very expensive candy. This toy takes 3 AG13 batteries that cost $8.00 per 3 pack. The batteries run out in less then 2 weeks. How much fun is this toy when it doesn't play music? Not much. I thought the first one we bought was defective since it didn't make sense that the batteries would die so quickly, so I returned it to Toys'r'us for a new one. The new one does the same thing. Don't waste your money! Buy something that is a quality toy, otherwise be prepared to buy batteries by the gross.Customer Review: No Off Switch? REALLY?!

My 2 year old daughter LOVES Barney. So this doll seemed perfect for her. Once we got it, we realized it has no On/Off switch. So she can't sleep with this Barney doll, because if she rolls over on him in the night, he starts singing. The ONLY way to turn off his singing is to remove the batteries, and then my daughter is upset that Barney won't sing to her when she hugs him. :( So, this toy is fine, as long as you're OK with having to take the batteries out every night and put them back in every morning.
