There are so many fine lines that can be crossed when trying to wake up a child with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and the like. Our daughter struggles to get up and struggles with time-standing-still. We thought we'd go the inexpensive route and purchase this alarm clock rather than the more expensive, louder, bed-shaking one.
Although the laser clock isn't loud, the idea of shutting it off via laser is motivational! Other clocks were just turned off (Forget the snooze button!) and mornings became stress-filled as emotions ran high and we had to compact our day.
Today was the first morning we used the clock. Our daughter woke me up! There was a smile on her face and she completed all of her school work before 2:30 p.m.! I won't go as far as to say that this clock works miracles, but it seems to be the right fit for our child. I hope and pray it doesn't get old because seeing a mega-nonmorning person wake up with a smile is fantastic!
(If the laser alarm clock does get old, there is that other option. {Smiling.})
