The slide is very colorful. The first time the kids saw it, they wanted to get right on. When fully inflated, it works great. It has a flap at the end of the slide that extends will into the water so there's no danger of landing on the edge of the pool.
At one point, we even put it completely into the pool, which the kids had a good time with. There is a slight danger with that in that a child could get trapped underneath, so do not allow them to do this without adult supervision. Actually, this should only be used with adult supervision.
It works best when fully inflated so the center portion is quite hard. Otherwise, the kids will sink in increasing friction and slowing the slide to a crawl. The water sprayers work OK. Keeping the slide wet makes it work better.
The main advantage of this over a rigid slide in that it deflates for storage.
It's fairly easy to set up if you have a good shop vac. A compressor won't do it nor will a hand pump. The larger sections use Boston valves. With the first cap off, it's a one-way air valve. This makes inflating easy. With the second cap off, it's an open hole, which makes deflating fairly easy. The other sections use a regular flip-top air value with an inside flap. It should make inflating easy, but my shop vac had trouble pushing air past the valve. I had to crimp it with pliers of jam something inside to hold it open. But this was nothing compared to the nightmare trying to deflate those sections. The shop vac merely closes the valve more tightly. I needed the pliers and a lot of patience. Maybe it would be easier if I had a very thin attachment for the shop vac that would go complete inside.
It's also difficult to know which sections to deflate first. I ended up doing them all a little at a time in rotation. A real pain. It takes over an hour to take it down and pack it away. I bought a canvas to wrap it is to protect the vinyl. Getting is back into the box is impossible.
It worked great the first year. At the start of this year, it already would not hold air. I had to keep inflating it, because if it gets low the kids can't slide. The kids ended up getting tired up it, so I put it away. I doubt that I will get it out again.
This is a great idea and a lot of fun when it works. The quality just isn't there.
