Toys and Games Reviews of 71.5" x 40" Jump o Lene Jump n GymCustomer Review: heavy use and still holding! LOTS of fun! Summary: 5 Stars
We've had this for well over a year now, and it gets heavy use with 6 kids (ages 2-6). THEY LOVE IT! And so do us parents. It was easy to set up, we just used a little air compressor to blow it up. In fact, I bought this one from Amazon and it's been great: Intex 110-120 Volt AC Quick-Fill Electric Pump It's pretty good sized, and although it recommends only 2 kids at a time, we've had 4 in there holding hands and jumping and having a blast. The little door to crawl in and out of is perfect. Although I've seen other reviews here regarding holes, ours has been super durable. Highly recommend. Oh, and btw, we've used it indoors for parties and the kids love it, too. Very very fun toy.
Last thought: we also bought a bag of 100 balls to throw in there and let the kids roll in, but we haven't even done that yet because they have so much fun just being in there jumping, bouncing, etc.
EDIT: OK, now we're at two years use and no problems at all. In fact, the second summer, the kids got even rougher with it, and it refuses to give in! They started a new thing with it where they flip it upside down and all get underneath it, like a tent, and when they get bored with that, then it's upright again and they are jumping in it. When they tire of that, they lay down in it and pretend it's a raft and they are sunning themselves in it. No end to the fun with this versatile and durable toy. Hope this helps someone make the decision. :)
Customer Review: Great fun for toddler and older sibling Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this toy for my 18 month old about 6 weeks ago, and he absolutely loves it. He can fall, bounce, flip and roll around to his hearts content. There is plenty of room for my 9 year old daughter to join him. They like it as a bouncer, and also as a ball pit. We added 300 balls (150 barely cover the bottom).
I read the reviews about the leaks, but decided to take a chance since I could pick it up at the local Target. So far it has held up really well - the only leak we've had was from our cat who got spooked and jumped on it with her claws. It patched well, and has not been a problem since. 1/18/08 - update: One of the seams in the yellow wall has a small tear now, and we have been unable to patch or fix it. I am not as happy with this as when I first wrote this review, but I cannot figure out how to lower my durability star rating.
The only caution I have is that it is big - if you are going to use it indoors you need about 6-7 foot square space. You should not put it next to a wall or furniture, because the side walls have large spaces in them, and when the children are particularly wild, their little heads will poke through.
Customer Review: Best $30 I ever spent! Summary: 5 Stars
When I bought this item I got it through Wal-Mart for $30. I bought it for her 1st birthday party, so that the older kids coming would have something fun to play in. I thought, well, if it busts after one day, it was still worth $30 versus paying $200 to rent one. Not only did the kids have a great time playing in it that day...my daughter turned FOUR May 11th and we still have it! It has never had a hole in it. The kids LOVE it! We keep it in our basement now and the kids love to play in it. We've also had it out in the yard sometimes, but beware if it's really windy! It will blow away. If you want to spend a small amount, but have hours of fun...then this is the product for you! There are definitely fancier and bigger bouncers that are really nice, but they cost at least $200. My friend has a Little Tykes one that's great, but they paid $200 for it and it ripped the first day they used it! They were able to sew it up and it still works, but they paid almost 7 times the amount we did! My daughter, all the kids that have jumped in the Jump-o-lene and I all highly recommend this product!
Customer Review: So Much Fun! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this Jump O Lene for my daughters 3rd Birthday Party, and she and my nephew had a blast in it. Although I must say, it did kill the grass after one full day sitting on it, they had a great time jumping around in it. My cousin (who is 110 pounds) even sat in it while my daughter (30 pounds) and nephew (45 pounds) jumped around her. It is definately more durable than it says. It has been up on the grass and or concrete for about a week now, and it's still going strong...and trust me, my daughter uses the hell out of this thing. Everyday she gets in there and jumps around. At night, we take it into our built in pool, and she jumps inside of it there too!
Last night I even got in myself! It makes a really good "Merry go round" once inside the swimming pool....and trust me, i'm not even near the weight restriction they put on this thing. We were both jumping in and out of it, and its still up! I would definately recommend this product to others, especially if they have a big swimming pool, it serves multiple purposes!
Customer Review: Good for awhile Summary: 3 Stars
My daughter got this when she was 2 1/2 and loved it. She played in it for the two remaining months of summer nearly every day. The next year we blew it up and there was a leak. It was a slow leak and we could never find it. It lead to us having to pump it up every day, which was A LOT of work. The other problem is that with a foot or hand pump it takes more than a 1/2 hour to inflate, so therefore you don't want to deflate it after each use, not to mention that the valves are the kind you have to hold together to get the air to come out and it takes hours to deflate. It is huge so if you leave it inflated it must stay outside and is soon covered with dust and filled with rain water. A cover would have been a nice addition to this product. While this is certainly a much cheaper alternative, if you have the money, invest in a Bounce Round which we now have. It blows up and deflates on its own and is a cinch to pack away. You also get a lot more space, bounce and it is better for older kids.
