Bought this toy several years ago for my son.
He is interested in anything that moves. This toy allows him to move the gears around and change the direction of the gears.
The parts are large and durable, and yes I have played with the toy when he is asleep.

Gearation is a great toy! My 3 year old just loves it - the back of each gear is a magnet and can be easily placed on the board while off or while moving. Connect the gears to make them move. This toy is great for my 2 year old. He loves to connect the gears and watch it go around. We searched all over locally for this and could only find it online, well worth paying the freight! It keeps him happy for a long time :)
