Toys and Games Reviews of Tomy GearationCustomer Review: Not lasting fun Summary: 2 Stars
There are lots of positivie reviews about this toy, which you can refer to hear all the good things this toy has to offer. Here are the I don't like about it:
1. It's makes noise that is appealing to children but very annoying to the adults in our family.
2. There is no place within the toy to store all the gears and pieces that come with it, so they end up easily separated and strewn around and lost easily.
UPDATE: This toy lasted two and a half months before the motor that turns the gears broke and the toy stopped working for good.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money Summary: 1 Stars
My baby likes to chew on the colorful pieces and is always drawn to the toy no matter where I hide it in the house. It was bought for a 3 1/2 year old who loved it for about one week. I don't think there is enough interaction to keep his mind interested. You just put the pieces on the board and watch them spin around. The worst thing about this toy is that it is just another huge plastic toy that gets in the way and is starting to look tired after 3 months. There are many better creative activities for your toddler.
Customer Review: misled by previous reviews Summary: 2 Stars
We purchased this toy for our children, ages 4 & 7, based on the glowing reviews. I must admit it's a clever concept. The kids we're having fun with it initially, but have not taken it out since the holidays. I think the most fun they had was putting small figures on the gears & watching them go around. This may be fine for the 3 and under crowd , but I would not recommend it for anyone older. Unfortunately, in this world of high tech stimulation, this toy is a one trick pony that will tire kids quickly.
Customer Review: Great toy. Summary: 5 Stars
One of the few toys the kids still pull from the closet from this past Christmas. Purchased for a four year old the two year old has started to play with it recently and finds it pretty challenging but for the most part has figured it out. Definitely worth the price, well made and fun. Educational? Educational is overated in my opinion but if you want something that the kids will have to figure out with different speeds, reverse and forward, then I suppose it's educational. It's not chess but it is fun.
Customer Review: Grandchild's Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this for our three-year-old grandaughter's birthday, and it was an immediate hit. She continues to choose it over other toys on a regular basis and is practicing thinking skills as she plays. We are totally happy with the way the toy is constructed and the ease with which our grandchild could learn to use it. It's colorful design immediately drew her attention. Because it is magnetic, she can easily transport it wherever she goes. We have already purchased the next step in gear products for her.
