Toys and Games Reviews of Quercetti Georello Kaleido Gears, 55 pieces

Customer Review: Me and my kid keep playing with this endlessly
Summary: 4 Stars

it took me some time to introduce this to my 2 yr old son and get him interested. but once he got the hang of it ..both father and son would spend hours on this..and hacing fun at the same time.

he's understood the fundamentals and now uses his own imagination and combination to play with this toy.

I see this as a long time to-companion for my son and hope to get versions for bigger kids as and when he starts growing up.

it was worth the time and effort that I spent alone on the toy in order to show my son how it works !

Customer Review: Fun for a bit.
Summary: 4 Stars

We've enjoyed this toy, but it hasn't held their attention as long as I would have liked. My 4 year old is interested, but it is over quickly. I gave this a high rating because I think he will really love it in the near future when he can get more into the sophistication of the toy.

My main issue is that the white pegs that hold the gears to the blocks bend and break easily. Georello sends many extras with the pack, so it's not too much of an issue yet. I would say a definite yes for kids around the ages of 5-6, especially builders!

Customer Review: Fantastic for little engineers!
Summary: 5 Stars

My 4 year old son loves, loves, loves this toy. In fact we just bought him a second set because he wanted MORE GEARS. It is colorful, sturdy, creative, easy to use, and very educational. My son loves interlocking the gears and figuring out which gear "locks it up" if they suddenly won't spin. My 1 year old loves watching the bright gears spin around too! I would recommend this to anyone. It also has several expansion sets, so you can keep adding on and increasing the complexity as your child gets older. Two BIG thumbs up from our family!

Customer Review: Bit tough for little hands to put together, but beautiful...
Summary: 3 Stars

The base pieces of this toy are a bit stiff for my kids' little hands to put together. Also, the pegs that hold the gears onto the base are a bit tricky, but will build good fine motor skills if not discarded in frustration. I was just as entranced by this toy as they were as we played with it together for the first time. The brightly colored decals are trippy and fun. And learning that gears transfer energy they supply to move other gears of various sizes "on down the line" is... priceless. *grin*

Customer Review: Fun Learning Toy
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased a set for my Head Start classroom, and think I may have to get another one. Really popular with my little ones who just aren't old enough for traditional learning styles. These gears are great for individual or cooperative group projects, lend themselves to creative and ingenious configurations, and encourage persistence. Imagine what the kids could do with twice as many to work with! I did leave off the decals that came with the set - entirely too much visually.
