Toys and Games Reviews of Lift-Off RocketCustomer Review: nice for older kids Summary: 3 Stars
We ordered this for my 6 year old space/rocket crazy son to give as a Christmas present to our 2 1/2 year old son. It turns out they both love to play with it, but the younger one is pretty hard on it - like he is with all toys - and broke off one of the doors already. It snaps back on but falls off real easily now. It is hard to believe it would be so easy to break - it isn't a cheap toy after all, but like I said he is pretty hard on things. Therefore, I would recommend this toy for an older, less destructive child. Perfect for the 6 year old!
Customer Review: Quality, but simplistic and too heavy for real ACTION. Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this toy for our three year old. It is nicely made, but the pieces are kind of chunky and simplistic. (Especially for a boy who has older brothers with cool little-piece toys around.) It seems best suited for a two year old or maybe an oldest child. (Kind of on-par with Fisher Price Little People.) For a boy like mine that wants to actually pick up the ship and fly it around, I would recommend the Rescue Heroes Micro space station. That ship is much lighter and more flyable, the guy is cool and the space station itself is fun.
Customer Review: Rockin' Rocket! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought one for our son turning 3, but our son turning 5 wants one so bad he can't stand it. They both think its the greatest toy ever and they love anything "space". Some friends of ours have 2 boys and they each have one and still play with them daily. The oldest is 6. That's why we bought it. This toy is fun, durable, makes great sounds and the handle is perfect. Our 3-year old loves to play with toys that are too big for him and he usually gets frustrated. Three is a great age to get started with this toy.
Customer Review: Poor Construction Summary: 2 Stars
The small hinge for the center compartment has broken off after more than a year (of not much use) - so now that compartment falls out easily. My two year old was also greatly frustrated by the doors that (were meant?) to pop off easily - we had to constantly put the doors back on for him. The toy is also a bit too heavy. Don't like that the dog and the alien are too big to fit in the rover. I wasted over $40 on this toy - disappointed. This one is probably getting donated so it no longer frustrates my son.
Customer Review: Hours and Hours of Fun Summary: 5 Stars
This was a surprisingly great toy for all of my boys! My kids (ages 4, 2, and 1) all enjoy watching the lights and listening for the rocket countdown. My middle son has even learned to count backwards by playing with this toy. All of the items in the playset are durable and functional. Pieces are easy to put in the rocket, and the doors pop on and off easily (which keeps them from getting broken.) This is the ONLY toy from Christmas that is still getting as much attention as the day we got it!
