This Diggity Dog game is great for the little kids to play. They have so much fun and the learning comes naturally as they go along. It teaches 4 colors, counting, taking turns "sharing" and following instructions. The box is very sturdy with plastic molding inside for each dog to fit into which helps to keep the game like new when it is put away.
The game board is sturdy and colorful with a cute, quality made, little dog for each player. Each dog has a matching doghouse on the board where the dog starts the journey around the board. There are little bones that are placed around the game board. They have magnets inside the dog's nose and inside each nose. As a player's dog comes to the bone the dog can pick up the bone and check the color underneath. If it matches their dog they put the bone in their dog house. Collect all 4 bones first and win the game. There is a large dog that sits on a doghouse that rests in the middle of the game board. When a player presses down on the big dog she barks. The kids have to listen and pay attention and count her barks so they know how many spaces to move. (My grand daughter who is 2 1/2 years old calls her the "Mommy Dog" and she says the other little dogs are her babies.) When we play we take turns as who gets to go first. Usually youngest to oldest.
Note to Parents:
Our kids have done just fine with the game and the little dog bones, but they are definitely be a choking hazard. If your little one tends to put things in his or her mouth I'd recommend waiting until they are a little older to play the game or have that child sit with an adult for close supervision. The little kids like the colorful dogs and are attracted to the game so even if they are very young they will still enjoy playing.
As a grandparent I appreciate a game that is fun and fast moving like Digitty Dog game. It is great to see the kids learning and having fun at the same time. I love watching their expressions as they put the dog's nose down to pick up the bone and look to see if it matches. It is similar to watching a child open a gift and see the surprise inside. When it does match they wiggle with excitement it is so adorable!

In this adorable first memory board game, kids help the puppies find their bones. Start by pressing on the electronic barking dog, and he will bark the number of spaces you move (1,2 or 3). When your puppy lands on a space beside a bone, he can pick it up using his magnetic nose. If the color of the bone matches your puppy, you get to move it to your doghouse.
