Customer Review: It wasn't thought all the way through before it was sold.

Although this DVD game of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" is very fun and much like the show, it has several aspects of it that were not well thought out by the creators.
First of all, the game was not intended for a solo player; it was meant for 2-4 players, but it is possible to work around this. Each player is given six cards that say: A, B, C, D, Walk Away, or have the pictures of all the lifelines. The player is then supposed to select the card that they wish to use based on the question. Now, the questions don't stay up for long, rather they come up for maybe 20 seconds then they go away. The question is read to you, though, so if you have trouble reading, this does make it easier to play the game. After the question has been read, you are then asked if anyone chose to use a lifeline. The problem with this is that only one player can use a lifeline per question. Now, he can use more than one of his lifelines, but if more than one person wanted to use a lifeline, the second person is going to be out of luck. The lifelines available in this game are 50:50, Ask the Audience, and Phone a Friend. After the lifelines are used (or not) you are then told the answer to the question and asked if anyone got it wrong. And after that question you have to answer the question of whether someone walked away. Although these questions are vital to the gameplay, they slow it down and you are forced to answer them each question. There are a lot of questions in the game, though, and I have rarely had a repeat question in playing this game. The questions range in difficulty from easy to hard, so there is a nice variety. There is also variety in the styles of questions, they range from knitting questions to geography questions.
Overall, this is a fun game to play with friends, but it has its tedious moments. If you're willing to spend a large portion of the game answering whether players used lifelines or walked away then it can be quite an entertaining play.
