We own a Marbulous brand too. I think the Marbulous is much better but they only sell the one set with shorter less complex pieces. The marble race deluxe has a lot more twist and turns making it more fun for kids to watch but much harder to put together. There are less design opportunities than with the other brands we have tried because the pieces are so big and sometimes only fit in certain ways.
Pros:
1.More twist and turns than any other set I have seen.
2.What you get for the price is great. [...]
3.Its a little more complex therefore a little more educational in my opinion.
4.Comes with plenty of marbles
Cons:
1. The marbles sometimes get stuck even when you think the set is perfectly flat.
2. If your child is young (under 6) I think they might have a hard time coming up with track designs on there own.
3. Some of the pieces are kind of loose but unless you bump into it the set stays upright.
4. Pieces and marbles are not compatible with other brands. I wish some of these companies would make them compatible with each other or make additional sets with different style pieces.
The marbulous brand is the best set we have come across, the pieces fit tight, easier to put together, and clear so you can see the marbles fall through. We were hoping to expand on what we had but Marbulous only seems to have the one set. We purchased the Marble race deluxe set because it was big and had many complex fun pieces. My kids love it despite its flaws and would never dream of getting rid of it or trading it for anything else. It is worth the price.
