Initially, I was very hesitant to spend this much money on "building blocks", especially when it seems as if there aren't very many blocks. Turns out there are plenty for the kids to have fun, and I could not be happier with this product! Purchased as a gift for my son's 4th birthday, they were instantly popular, although he wasn't quite sure how to use them. Big brother (5) and dad jumped right in and showed him how to follow the practice cards, and with a little practice and demonstration, he was soon building the simpler designs on his own. I will have to say that my younger kids, aged 2 and young 4, prefer to free-build vs. looking at the cards, while older 6 year old loves to be challenged by duplicating the designs on the cards (and so does dad!). These are popular with all who visit our house, from toddlers to grandparents, and recieve tons of "where did you get these?" remarks. The blocks themselves are very solid and sturdy, and have withstood the usual torture 4 kids under 7 bring upon toys. I will note that I took the deck of idea cards and inserted them into a mini photo-album so they would last longer. The photo album as well as all the pieces in this kit will fit into the provided storage bag, which is very sturdy, although it is vinyl or plastic or something. One year later, this set is still sought after and played with at least 3 days per week. Because of the popularity and durability of this toy, as well as hearing the children begging for the assessory kit(s), we will be adding to this kit with the WOW wedgits kit this Christmas!
