I started buying Bella Sara cards for my niece because it seemed like a fun idea and interactive on a number of levels. The more I learned, the more disgusted I was with the Bella Sara company. First of all, their website isn't fully functional yet, so you can participate in activities, but there's little point as you don't get rewards and you don't complete missions along toward some ultimate goal. Also, the website is PAINFULLY slow even on a broadband connection. Second, and this is perhaps more subjective, the cards are a bit expensive unless you can find someone selling them really cheaply.
But the most egregious offense is the code on the cards that you enter into the computer. Once they are entered, the card is worthless. Want to trade or sell the card with a used code? Forget it, it's absolutely worthless to someone else. This is the biggest con I've seen in a long time, which is why I give it a rating of 1 star. Imagine buying any other toy, using it once, and then it's junk. Additionally, if you have a card and want to know if the code has been used or not, the last time I checked there was no way to verify this without actually entering the code, at which point the card is now used and worthless.
