Customer Review: Take It Anywhere!

This is one of the games my friends and I played to death. It is very fun and simple, yet having some mathematical skills on probabilities doesn't hurt. The purpose of the game is to fill your score sheet as much as possible by making the different combinations required. The more you do the higher the score, and multiple yahtzee's (five of a kind) scores you bonuses. There are different editions of this game but this one is the best. Here is why:
REDESIGNED: This edition of Yahtzee comes with a felt-lined cup and tray. Remember how loud it is to use the plastic cup in the original edition? Well now it's very quiet and the tray keeps the dice from going everywhere. The dice are over size which is a nice touch. It also has a dice keeper where you can place the dice you will not re-roll.
PLAYING MATERIALS: The folio comes with a score pad and an engraved pencil. But it also has room to store more pencils and pads. You can even store a Triple Yahtzee pad if you have any. Triple Yahtzee is kind of a Yahtzee Advanced that isn't sold anymore although you can still find the scoring pads and instructions on the net (which is all you need).
PORTABLE: You can drag this game anywhere. And since you can play solo it's great to take to your doctor's appointment. That is if you don't mind people asking where you got that cool Yahtzee game. It's perfect for travel and the zippered case is very nice and durable.
Overall the game is great and this folio edition is a must buy for any Yahtzee fan. By the way I saw someone once roll three yahtzees in a row and finish with ten yahtzees in a six round game. I know you can do better... if you try. Have Fun!

I love this game. This is a nice zipper case that hold my favorite game. Well organized inside. A pouch to hold your score pad, a loop to hold a pencil, then you got a nice tray to throw the dice and individual dice holder as well as the dice cup that has a lining in the inside to reduce the dice noise. This is a pretty good size to play anywhere. Usually travel games are smaller but in this case, the travel version of the folio means it is a zipper case that hold your game in an organized fashion. With the case zippered, it is approximately 10"length X 6"wide X 3"thick. A nice quality game. Worth every penny. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Yahtzee.

Zipper still working and game is still like new and we still play it often. Great for vacationing.

This is great. It really gives some class to yahtzee- no red plastic cup making alot of noise while someone rattles the dice.
It is great for travel since you do not have to worry about someone throwing the dice off the table. Just roll them in the felt lined area. It is quieter than the red cup. Otherwise, the game is the same.
I liked this version. It also looks attractive on a bookshelf rather than a loud red box.
One suggestion as an alternative- if you want the game to travel and you cannot find anyone who loves the game as much as you do, check out the electronic version. Also, with the electronic version, you do not have to keep up with score sheets. The computer does all that

My step-daughter and I recently had to take a fairly long flight with a 2-hour "lay-over". I bought this version of Yahtzee to take along since we both love the game. It was perfect for use on the flight because it was neatly self contained; dice, score sheets, padded dice shaker and well lined pocket to shake them in to. Since it was so easy to take anywhere, we rarely got bored when my husband had business to take care of. Watching her use strategy and taking what she learned from previous games was great.....it taught me a few things as well. This is a perfect travel companion. My husband and I love Yahtzee and we got this for one of our summer vacations. It was a great game to take with us on the plane. It's much smaller than having the regular size with you and you can just zip it all up when you are done. The dice roller is not like the hard plastic one that the original version comes with, which lessens the noise. I still found it a tad too noisy though - not bad for us, but thought it may disturb others sitting near us on the plane. I give it 5 stars - it's fun, easy to travel with, and affordable.
