Customer Review: Has the appeal, but not the construction

I bought this for my 5 year old niece, and of all the gifts I gave her and my eight year old nephew (lots), this is what they both wanted to play first. The attraction to this was so strong. And then they put it together..... The circles to jump in were too small for the 8-year old and almost too small for the 5-year old. And remember, you have to jump into them, so there is absolutely no room for a margin of error. The 8 year old took off his shoes and tried to play with his sister, but there just wasn't much to it. It says to spin the twister wheel and then you can dance or sing, but it was all pretty pointless. They should have just either made this a basic hopscotch or made some point to the twister hopscotch, which made it a little different, with some definite goals and rules. The meeting in the middle, which it tells you to do, is just kind of blah. The two of them got there, kind of looked at each other, danced a little and then jumped off and put the game up. My niece might play this some by herself in the future (since her feet fit in the circles), but that will probably be the extent to which it is played again.

It is such a good idea - an indoor hopscotch that can be patterned in any way the child chooses, but the construction was a failure and the game "rules" were too vague and a bit pointless. Twister can have a success with this if they redo it, because the kids absolutely love the idea - the appeal is there.
