I read that TinkerToys have been around since 1913. My preschooler loves to "build" and I thought these would give him more challenge. He's only had them since Christmas, so I can't really speak for durability except to say they seem to be strong well made toys. He is not sure of how to use them but is having fun finding out.

Tinkertoys were my favorite as a child so I was delighted when my 3 year old great grandson requested for one of his Christmas gifts. The toys are a wonderful as ever. The wooden spools are nice, smooth and solid. The plastic pieces are colorful. Excellent quality. I am very pleased with the container as well. I bought this package of Tinker Toys for a very smart 3 year old child. It was a great gift. He has a great time with these and can play alone. I remember playing with these as a child over 60 years ago. You can't go wrong with a set of Tinkertoys for children old enough not to be in danger of choking on small objects. This set was for the fourth generation of my family, a gift for my two grandsons, to play with Tinkertoys. They never go out of favor . . . and they never need batteries and have no annoying sound effects!Customer Review: My 4 yr old loves, loves, loves these!

My 4 yr old son got these for Christmas and has not stopped creating things with them. He plays with them every day and has even created a few things mixing these with his K'nex. One wood piece broke where the groove is, but the others are all holding up fine. He plays with this more than any other toy he has.
