Toys and Games Reviews of Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet

Customer Review: Good for display on shelf
Summary: 2 Stars

I think this product is ok if you are a collector and will keep it on a shelf. But as for what has been advertised, and for the sole purpose my son wanted it for Christmas...the voice changer to make it sound like you are a storm trooper... it is complete junk. Even with your mouth up against the mic, it still barely picks up your voice, so now it sits on my 10 years olds shelf, untouched.

I think more effort should have been put into that feature, as that is the one feature that attracted little kids the most, and then it turned out to be a flop. The helmet also feels a bit heavy...not worth carrying the weight around for a kid if he can't have the voice feature.

Customer Review: Has some flaws...
Summary: 3 Stars

First, it took a tremendous amount of time to assemble this out of the box. Then adjusting it to fit my 9 year old's head so that he could both see out the visor and speak into the microphone took many more adjustments. It is still way too big for him. My son likes the phrases that it says and thinks they sound realistic. However, he cannot wear this helmet without holding it on his head to prevent it from falling off. Unfortunately, he couldn't wear it trick-or-treating for Halloween, which was it's intended purpose. Overall, he likes the toy but I wish we could have tried it on him before buying it. If you know someone who has it, try it on first!!!

Customer Review: definetly not for little kids
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this from TRU ([...])for my 5-year-old son. First, he looked like a bobble-head when he put it on. I think a child would need to be about 10 before it could fit him. It is made to fit 5-adult. The inside head strap is adjustable, making it fit any head, but definetly not any body. My son couldn't walk without holding on to it. Even then it was wobbly and difficult and he couldn't see well. Second, it says it is a "voice changer". It should have read "voice amplifier" because it doesn't change the voice. It does the same thing as my son's toy cash register's microphone feature. I returned it and got him a rather snazzy Darth Vader costume instead.

Customer Review: Great for star wars fans
Summary: 5 Stars

My two sons are Star Wars fanatics. My 9 year old especially loves the clone troopers. The helmet is big (my head can fit it it) and the kids do look like bobbleheads as the other reviewer mentioned. The voice changer could be better but the other reviewer was too critical. The point is to sound like a clone trooper not like Darth Vader. So it doesn't do much to change the voice because after all, clone troopers are just cloned humans anyways. And there are the other buttons which sound out phrases from the Clone wars movie. My son thinks "it's perfect."

Customer Review: Disappointing
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this for our 5 year old son for Christmas this year. It's a pain to put together and keep together. The voice changer might as well be non-existant. You can hardly hear him unless he holds the helmet so his mouth is right against the microphone piece. It's a little heavy too. At first feel you might not think so, but try wearing it for 5-10 minutes. Anyway my son took it off, lightly dropped it on the floor (causing me to have to put 2 pieces back together) and hasn't given it a thought since. Too Bad!
