Toys and Games Reviews of SORRY! Sliders

Customer Review: 4 star fun game for everyone
Summary: 4 Stars

Bought this game on sale from Amazon and kids love playing it.
Was sooo easy to set up. Comes with 4 cardboard pieces that have two parts you pop out then you take the little plasic side blockers and put those one open up the sliders and pawns. My 7 year olds had no problem setting this up they had it done before i was done reading the different variations for play. We like that there are different ways you can play it and they even make up their own rules which is just as much fun and good for them to learn too.
I think even if you did break the blocker pieces or side ones would be easy enough to jimmy rig something in place. Why some say so hard to put together i am not sure and we just leave ours all put together in the box i would not take them apart too many times or would think the side blockers might break or get lost.

Anyway we like it and is a fun variation from original Sorry.
Only thing i wish after having many board games in those book boxes that this one had a nice storage compartment instead of just throwing all in the box but again kids have come up with solution of bags and padded envelope even for the score cards since they want to keep it in good shape.

Customer Review: Not Sorry I Picked This One Up!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The classic game of Sorry has always been a huge hit with our family. I picked up this newer Sorry game for my daughter's 7th Birthday and it has become an instant classic. Her friends always want to play it when they come over and it never gets old. The great thing is that a 5 year old can play this game with no supervision or coaching. The kids absolutely love this game. It's built well, easy to assemble and put away. Not too many pieces (like stacks of playing cards and whatnot).

The other great thing about this game is that it is equally fun for adults. It pretty much puts everyone at the same level, so it's not uncommon to get beat by a 5 year old, even when you try your hardest.

After the kids have gone to bed I like to switch up the board to create a new game where you have to really slide the pieces down a long alley... almost like shuffle board. I haven't tried it yet, but I think there are probably a few great drinking games that can be created using this game.

This is a great game and I am so happy that I purchased it.... And I don't even really like board games all that much. This one is different.

Pick it up, or you'll be Sorry!

Customer Review: someone is always saying SORRY!
Summary: 5 Stars

AWESOME!!! I bought this game to advance my 2nd graders from the classic SORRY! game they have always loved. This version has added an exciting twist and skill to the board that keeps them interested and certainly in great competition. They love the excitement of how much their score can change throughout the game based on how pawns slide onto the game baord and bump into other pawns. The concept of scoring was easy for them to understand yet challenging enough for keeping track of each round. They certainly enjoyed the familiarity of the SORRY concept and most excited about the variation capabilities in this set. Another feature I did not expect so much excitement from was the pawns. Every player gets 8 pawns, 4 tiny ones for scoring and 4 "sliders" with steel balls inside them. The rule is one tiny pawn to a large sliding pawn. To teach them the relation of scoring, I let them know that every big pawn has ONE "buddy" (little pawn)..and that they stick together throughout the game.
The game is very well constructed. I use alot of games in teaching and this is impressive! Don't hesitate! You're FAMILY will love this one!

Customer Review: No Sorry's Here - Excellent Family Entertainment!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this game for my 10 yr. old boy for Christmas. We played it that day. Mom, Dad, & son all had a ball with it. Setup is simple. Most of the setup is a 1 time thing - so the next time you play it is even quicker to get ready. All 3 of us loved it! I was more amazed to find out a day or two later that my 4 yr. old and 2 yr. old boys also had a blast with the game - and were quite proficient in sliding the Sorry sliders! They beat Dad every time we played (and I was even trying!!)! This game has been sold out most places for awhile and for good reason! IT IS A BLAST!! There are so many configurations to setup that the game never becomes boring. Each game - no matter how you decide to setup and play - only takes about 15 minutes to play - so you don't lose interest - and either do the kids!! Basically - Sorry Sliders is shuffleboard with a Sorry slant to it - in that the points you get from your Sliders are what you use to get your normal Sorry pawns safely home.

EXCELLENT GAME!! Well worth the money - no matter what you pay to find one!! It is already easier to find online now that Christmas has passed.

Customer Review: surprising educational twist
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fun game. I wasn't expecting it to be. Everyone from 9 to 72 enjoyed it on first play and are still having fun with it. There are a number of different configurations you can use for the board to keep it new. The rules are essentially the same so it doesn't require learning a whole new set of rules to change it. I was suprised by the educational twist. You use the score you optain by where your slider lands on the target as your points. You can combine points or divide them in order to move your playing pieces forward (the winner is the one whose playing pieces all reach the end point first). This requires some strategy and some math skills--a nice twist to make the game more interesting. I recommend this game. There is much more to it than I expected but it is also simple enough to learn and play in a limited amount of time. I have to admit however that we usually play more than one round before we put the game up! (Please excuse the spelling and grammar errors--I appreciate having these reviews available to me so I'd like to return the favor. I just don't have time to edit. :) )
