I purchased my son a rubiks cube for Christmas and my husband had misplaced it. I did notice that these cubes are a lot lighter in weight than the cube I used to play with in the early eighties. I am positive that they are not made with the same heaviness. It is still the same design and colors, but just not the same in weight. I am still going to purchase my son another one because he is more interested in it now than on Christmas day. I am so glad to see that our children will now get to see the cube that we used to play with for hours at a time. I'd rather see children playing with games that challenge their minds than to be dealing with those video games.Customer Review: Rubix Mishap, but I like them anyway!

I got it and it turned out to be a 25th Anniversary. Which means that the stickers peel of like none other. So, immeadiately after taking it out of the box, I noticed the stickers already coming off. Sent it back and got a Refund. But I bought a new one in a local store and played with it for 2 possibly 3 weeks and solved it. I now have a 4x4x4. The normal 3x3x3 is a great toy. Always fun to do it for some reason and extremely educational in terms of problem solving.
In the End, I have nothing wrong with the toy, I just hate the 25th Anniversary Cubes with the silver stickers. The White stickers are alright, but not that good.

After searching all over town and coming up empty handed I turned to trusty Amazon. To my surprise there are a few brands of the Rubiks cube and there are some not so great reviews for some of them. I am happy to report that this is the one you want. Mine showed up today and it moves very freely and quietly. It seems to be the same quality, weight, and feel as the ones I handled years ago. As for the sticker problems, time will tell; but the mechanics are fine. For 8 bucks you can hardly go wrong. By the way, all of the empty racks I found in the retail stores were tagged $10.99 + tax and higher. This one is definitely in my top five of the all-time greatest brain-busting puzzles! It's relatively small (ergo it can be taken with you just about anywhere), is thoroughly challenging and ultimately will keep you entertained for quite literally hours at a time. And as for it's durability, I have yet to see the stickers start peeling. Though admittedly it get's a little stiff when turning after you've put it away for a day or two, about 10 or 15 minutes of working with it seemed to do the trick for me. I highly recommend this toy to just about anyone of any age. It was the best seven bucks I ever spent, hands down!Customer Review: A blast from the past

I remember owning the original one of these and wow did it torment me so. I had to more than once play "pull and peel the sticker colors" to get it back to the colors. That one the stickers have long ago fell off so i have a few "dollar ones" that i've picked up and well, spend some time on. I have one that i've worked on for 2 years thats near my comp that i try to solve like 5 minutes a month or if my internet is going slow and i know i do more damage then good. But hey, it serves its purpose of passing the time and I may have solved a cube only a few times in my life, the entertainment of it is lasts a lifetime.
