...Was the title of a book I bought out of sheer frustration when I was a kid in the mid-eighties, stuck with a mixed-up Cube I couldn't solve. Well, the book was very helpful and allowed me to solve my Cube on a regular basis, so eventually I got bored and put my Cube aside.I left home in 1992 to join the Army and my stepmom put all my childhood stuff in storage. I didn't get a whole lot of my stuff back til I came back to the Memphis area (for the second time) in 2001... and there, amongst my things, was that selfsame Rubik's Cube.
And lo and behold if it doesn't still work beautifully after nine years in storage! Doesn't even need to be lubricated, all the stickers are still intact (even if some of them have nicks in them) and... it's still mixed up, doggone it, and now I wish I had my book again!
Definitely a fun toy. I have heard most kids these days would rather zonk out on the computer than play something that might actually provide an intellectual challenge. It's a shame, too.

The cubee is amazing. I'm a 15 year old High School Student and my fastest time is currently 1 min 30 sec, but I'm always improving. Solving the cube and figuring out new manouvers is the best method I've found to relieve stress or redirect one's focus. The cube requires one's full attention, and it clears all other worries and concerns from your head. The only problems that I've had with the Cube are the addiction and the wear. The Cube is like a drug: It's fun and exciting, but the addiction is hell. In about a month of cubing, I've completely worn out my 3x3x3. Now I can do the 4x4x4 and I'm working on the 5x5x5. I also own the Mini Cube which I've named "Baby." If only they could make more durable stickers or make a tiled cube, the problem would be solved and the cube would be even greater. But this is no reason not to get started with cubing. You'll find that each time you finish the cube, you'll mix it up and look forward to doing it again. Happy Cubing.Customer Review: Rubiks Cube

I bought a Rubik's cube a few months ago after seeing one on a TV documentary and remembering the one I had from my childhood. Straight away I had that flush of nostalgia, although I'm convinced this cube is smaller than the original version. Or maybe I'm bigger now! It is smooth to operate and i've had no problems (like other reviewers) with the stickers peeling off. Maybe my usage isn't that intensive yet! It comes with a tiny triangular stand to place it on and it's shows it off to good effect once you've completed the cube, which i've been unable to do so far. It also comes with an explanation booklet, which although has some useful tips, isn't the clearest i've seen. Overall this is a fun and stimulating toy, that may not keep you engaged for long periods of time (depending on your patience and attention span), but will give you a fun mental workout, as well as that nostalgic hit from a classic toy.

The classic puzzle toy, The Rubik's Cube, is a very hard, fun toy that older kids would enjoy. I recently got my Rubik's Cube over the holidays. The cube is very fun when you are not being overwhelmed from trying to figure out how to get each color aligned with each other. The toy is very fun, and will hold an older child's interest while playing with it for a while. The toy has very, very good educational values. The cube is a mathematical skill builder. Since the toy is such a hard puzzle, it causes a child to think, and thinking skills can help with mathematical skills and other skills learned throughout life. The toy is very durable except for the fact that a lot of use can reslut in the stickers peeling off.
Although I've had this toy for about 2 months, I've still never cracked the puzzle. Like I said, it is very hard, but very, very fun. So, I reccomend you buy and enjoy a Rubik's Cube. They're really fun.

Customer Review: Fun Comes To Those With Patience

I first bought a rubiks cube only recently, and it's fun once you learn how to do it. The soulution book that comes with it I found a little confusing, so i had to combine the solution book's method and the method of an internet site i found. It really isnt that hard if you just have the patience to follow the step by step guide... but all the frustration is worth it when you solve it for the first time. My self esteem went way up. But after much use i foud the stickers begin to peel at the edges and it gets stuck often, which if you are trying to go fast, is very annoying. Overall I'd say its a good buy, and if you are willing to practice, very rewarding. When i showed all my friends for the first time they thought i was a genius and it was just so amazing... when really all it is is learning the steps. If you are often bored and have extra time on your hands... buy a rubiks cube!!!!
