Toys and Games Reviews of RiskCustomer Review: Best strategy board game ever... after Chess, of course! Summary: 5 Stars
Chess cannot be compared to any Strategy games.. ever. But, if I chose one, it would be Risk. I own it for past 5 years and had lot of fun with friends and family playing this game. You might want to make few home rules once you play a lot and it gives whole new twist to original game.
Few home rules you might want to add is to allow attack from multiple regions or to be able to continue attack from other different regions.
Best strategy is to concentrate army and capture small continents like Aussie, Africa or South America and build base from there on.
Playing with 'Missions' in this game enhances the excitement and induces suspense as well.
If anyone likes to play Chess or Bridge; Risk is MUST OWN game.
Customer Review: Big fun...if you play my way!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I played at a party. Its pretty good! I twisted the rules, and the way I play puts the directions away. This toy is not only fun, but educational. 'World Domination' (aah!) is the theme of this game. You might want the most territory, but then you might want the biggest army....you decide! The game seperates Eastern & Western United States, though. This game is less complicated than Axis & Allies. I just love it!Pros Great game 'World Domination' theme brings education You can just play for the whole night (longer than Monopoly) Cons Many hazardous pieces 3,4,5,6 player games will be fun, yet complicated and confusing Directions: very confusing (no wonder I played it my way)
Customer Review: A Risk Worth Taking (Buying) Summary: 5 Stars
I played this game with my parents when I was young and had not played in a long time.
When my niece and nephew were coming for a visit I decided to pick up a couple of board games, and of course Risk was one of them. It was the one they enjoyed the most and we spent hours in the evening after dinner playing.
It was interesting to see how they developed strategy and understanding of the game over the course of a couple of days and their game play improved. For some reason the other games I bought were not as interesting (or interesting at all) and then this became the only one we played.
Well worth having a copy for old times sake or when you have visitors of any age.
Customer Review: Hours of thrills and excitement. Extremely riveting... Summary: 5 Stars
I recall as a teenager, spending countless long nights huddle over the Risk gameboard, quaffing many a sugar-laden beverage.
Risk has all the elements needed to entertain for hours--I recall the longest game I played was about 8 hours long. Risk needs concentration--foolishness quickly leads to death! (not literally) Also, the teamwork or lack thereof is one of most interesting aspects of the game. The perceived 'leader' quickly realizes just how easily his friends will turn on him or form alliances. Strategy, luck, teamwork--this game is great! Also, educational--this game helps to teach geography, strategy, planning (thought process), and consequences for action.
Customer Review: Best Game Ever Summary: 5 Stars
Adictive? Yes. I recently purchesed the game of RISK and I found very quickly that this game is more than just a gruop of people comming togeather and playing a simple game. It is just the oposite. It is more than a game. You do feel the frustrations of how a general must feel when he debates of weather to send a group of troops into a territory. Unlike other games that end up breaking up after the first person finishes the game. The quickest person is usually the looser here. I don't look at this game as an easy game it is one of those games like chess, where one must plan there moves. But WOW can it get any better?
