Customer Review: Teaches math skills!

I first saw this game while volunteering in my daughter's second-grade class, where the teacher used it in one of the math activity centers. Being able to put numbers in sequential order is a critical skill, and this is such a fun way to teach it. After looking for the game everywhere, I finally saw this one (a reissue, I think, since it's kind of retro) and grabbed it.
And although the box says 8-and-up, my 6-year-old son can play just fine. Sometimes we simplify the rules a little, and ignore the special green cards, which direct you to switch cards, trade with opponents, etc.
Overall, a very fun, educational game! Highly recommended. :-)

This is a family favorite. My family and now their families have been playing for about 20 years. The only problem I have had is that we play the game so often, the cards become bent and sticky from all the shuffling and handling required. I wish it were possible to get just replacement cards instead of the whole set as I now have about 16 racks and only enough cards for 4 players. This game teaches young children 6 and older how to arrange their numbers in order. You don't have to be a genius to play and the whole family can get involved. Young children love it because they can be included in the games. Very inexpensive also.Customer Review: Rack-o

This game is loved by my family and me. I ordered two games in the past through Amazon from Firefly. Family members took the games home so I ordered one more through Amazon from Firefly. I received the one pictured on the website on the first order, but on the next order I received an older version Circa 1960, I believe. The current version is more visually appealing and can be played the traditional way or with an updated versions with more playing options. I returned the product. I grew up playing games but had never heard of this until I got married. I guess my husband and his mom used to always play. It is great for all ages, it is educational for the little ones and strategy builder for the big kids. It is fun and addictive...you keep wanting to play because you were so close to winning! Add this one to your game closet it is guarenteed excitement for the family/friends. (only set back is max # of people is 4) You can play with 2, 3, or 4 players. I had Racko when I was about 5 or so. It was a quite time favorite in my household. I swear this was the game that helped me love math and I've been searching for it for my 4 year old - who also loved numbers. He's mastered Uno and monopoly and I'm sure it won't be long until he's the winner everytime in this game too.
My old game didn't have the feature where the numbers "line up" when placed in ascending order. This is a new feature for me and it's proven well for helping Brandon grasp the concept of the game.
I'm sure any eager young learner will love this game - as will any adult.
