Toys and Games Reviews of Pretty Pretty Princess Dress-Up Board Game

Customer Review: A lot of fun for little money....
Summary: 5 Stars

My 3 year old just received this game for the recent holiday. She is able to play with minor assistance and loves it. There is a plastic spinner with #'s 1-4. You must spin and then move a colored pawn the # of spaces the spinner indicates. Spaces are labeled with individual jewelry pieces or instructions such as "put once piece back" or "take any piece you wish". When you land on a space indicating that you can take a piece of jewelry you must take pieces that match the color of your pawn. For example, pick all things pink if you selected a pink pawn. The goal is that children acquire a complete set of jewelry (2 earrings, 1 necklace, 1 bracelet, & ring) + the crown in order to win. Watch out for the dreaded black ring though! You can't win if it's in your possession!

We also purchased the Disney princess game: Spinning Wishes. It was much more difficult for my daughter to play and not as enjoyable.

Customer Review: Pretty, Pretty Great!
Summary: 4 Stars

I gave this game to my 5 1/2 year old niece for Christmas and it was a smash hit! The rules were easy for her to understand, the board was easy for her to read, and she loved putting on all the jewelry and crown as she won them. The game moves quickly and Mom and the aunts were able to play along with her while still holding conversations and her 12 year old brother even played a few rounds (he did refuse to wear the jewels, however)! The great thing was that she could even play it by herself when no one else felt like playing. I have two criticisms: (1) the stickers were hard to put on the box and the crown and (2) the pink colored ring is more red than pink, and the purple ring is so dark it looks like the black one, which is the "old maid" in the game that a player does not want. Otherwise, this is a great game for a little girly-girl that loves frou-frou that teaches working towards a goal in a fun way.

Customer Review: Fantastic game for kids who love dressy up
Summary: 5 Stars

We got this game for our daughter when she was 4. Recommended to us by someone in a restaurant when she saw all the beads and bracelets our daughter had on one night. She said her daughter had played with it over and over again, and that is just what our own daughter has done. She absolutely LOVES it. There were days when we played it almost 5-6 times in a row and I'm sure she would have played it even more if we hadn't begged off. The best is when her dad and granddad play with her. Seeing them wearing all the jewelry, and the crown!, is a riot. It's very easy to learn. Object of the game is to win all your pieces of jewelry, plus the crown. Sometimes you get to take a piece from another player (like the crown), sometimes you have to put pieces back, sometimes you get to choose any piece you want. Very very enjoyable for her age group. My daughter is now 6 years old and still loves to play with it.

Customer Review: Easy & Fun
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is just plain fun. My husband and I don't mind playing it with our daughter --and we've had to play it nearly every night since buying it almost 3 weeks ago. If brothers, dads and grandpas are hesitant to play because of the jewelry, they don't have to actually put it on as they collect it (but it's so sweet when they do!) The game is simple and easy to learn, so when friends come over for playdates, it takes no time at all to start having fun together. It's a good "starter" game for kids: it doesn't have a bunch of rules or thought involved to play. While not necessarily educational, you can use this or any game to help teach your child how to be a gracious winner or loser. The jewelry isn't made to last forever, but you can always substitute other costume jewelry for any pieces that are lost or broken.

Customer Review: Fun Playtime with Granddaughter
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought Pretty Pretty Princess on the recommendation of a good friend. What a treat!!!! My granddaughter, who is 4-1/2 loves playing dressup and princess with her princess dolls, so this was right up her alley. We had such fun!!!! And she won all the jewelry the first time out, for real!!!! At First I was hesitant, thinking it was sending the wrong message. However, after speaking with my friend and then playing the game, I realized that the game teaches several valuable lessons. For obvious reasons it reinenforces the art of playing a game. It teaches shapes, colors, design, and in the end, self confidence in how you look. What young girl doesn't want to feel like a pretty princess. In this game, everyone feels like a Pretty I highly recommend Pretty Princess.
