Customer Review: Limited fun; bristle blocks are much more versatile.
Summary: 3 Stars
My toddler (2 years old) got this for Christmas. He already had a set of Bristle Blocks Twirl Tots in Bin; which he absolutely loves and spends hours playing with. This set has a number of problems and few strengths.
Cons:
- Large bristles that are tough to stick together (even for an adult)
- Pieces have to be stuck together in exactly the right way (frustrated my toddler)
- Not compatible with other bristle block sets, so what you can do with the blocks is very limited; my toddler got bored quickly with this set.
- Does not allow for much creativity.
Pros:
- My son loved that the middle table rotated. He really enjoyed stacking blocks and then hitting the button to watch them spin.
- I like the fact that it is a very self-contained unit; all of the pieces fit inside so it is easy to clean up.
- My son liked that the side panels are a shape-sorter for the pieces. He spent more time dumping the pieces out and putting them in the shape sorter than he ever did stacking them.
If you are looking for a good set of bristle blocks I would skip these and either go with the set linked above or with this set: Krinkles in Case , 113 pieces
Both of the linked bristle blocks sets are compatible and allow toddlers to put block easily together. The second link includes a set with wheels and allows toddlers to build cars and stuff like that. I know that these more standard bristle blocks have given my son hours and hours and hours of enjoyment; while the Clipo mainly sits around and gets dusty.
