Customer Review: less interactive than I hoped

I was hoping that this toy would be a little more hands on and allow the child to move the gears himself to figure out how they cause each other to turn. It is a bit more lights, sounds, and electronic movement than I hoped, and doesn't leave much room for creativity. I was hoping that it could offer multiple ways to place the gears, but gear placement is limited. My 2 year old does enjoy it for a few minutes, but usually moves on from it once he's removed and put the gears back on a few times. Although the gears can also be stacked, they are a bit unstable in the stacked position.Customer Review: Cute

My 1-year old enjoys this, but there's really not much to it. You push the button, it plays a tune, then the gears spin. My son can easily pull the gears off and put them back on, and he frequently will hold the center gear so everything stops.
I do wish there was a little more to it, but it is very cute for what you pay for it.
FYI, make sure the switch on the back is set correctly. We didn't realize it was set to DEMO and it barely played any music at all. Now that it is set right it plays a variety of short tunes before & after the gears spin.

I got this toy for my then one year old at Christmas not entirely sure how much attention it would get. Boy, was I surprised! Both she and her two year old brother loved this toy! It was one of the top two toys that Christmas and has been continually used since. That toy is played with EVERY day. A couple of cons previously mentioned: guard the gears because there aren't spares and the kids can't carry it by the handle without the gears falling off. Even with those minor issues, it was really worth the money for us.Customer Review: One of my son's favorite toys

We bought this for my son when he was about 7 months old and he loved it immediately. He liked pulling off the gears and watching them spin around. Now that he's almost 17 months, he loves pushing the button, removing and rearranging the gears, and toting the whole thing around. We try to keep only a few toys at a time out for him to play with and this one tends to get pulled out regularly (by him). A bonus for dad and I is that the music is not too loud and the songs are not annoying! I highly recommend this one!!Customer Review: Busy Gears Toy Captivates Children

I purchased the Hasbro Playskool Busy Gears for my 15 month old granddaughter. I wasn't sure how she would react to this toy. I was pleasantly surprised as it is one of her favorite toys and she plays with Busy Gears everyday. It is extremely durable as she has dropped it a few times and it continues to work just fine. The parts are large enough so I have no safety concerns if she chews on the plastic gears. She is fascinated by how it works and is entertained for long periods of time. I highly recommend this toy.
