Toys and Games Reviews of PicturekaCustomer Review: A Twist on "I Spy" - Lots of fun Summary: 5 Stars
We recently received this game and it's a big hit. Our 6 1/2 year & 9 year olds can play it on their own!
It's pretty much like "I Spy" because you are looking for objects on the game board. The new twist is that there are 9 tiles that make up the game board, so they can be moved or flipped over and change the game midstream.
Sometimes players have to find a certain number of objects on their own, other times it's a race for all players to find an object first and the last option allows for all players to bid to see if they can find the most of an object.
With 4 players this seems to be about a 20 minute game. A sure winner.
Customer Review: Not as Great as it Looks Summary: 3 Stars
I was really excited to give this game to my family for Christmas (a new game is a tradition). It looks like it's a ton of fun, and I knew that my dad really enjoyed "Where's Waldo?" books when I was growing up. When we opened this game and started playing, it wasn't what I was expecting. Some of the rules made it way too easy for someone to try to outbid someone else with no consequences if they didn't complete the challenge. So we ended up adding some stipulations. The game also ended really quickly. When it was over, we decided to play something else, and I don't know if they've ever opened it again. I guess you can't judge a game by its cover either.
Customer Review: Unique Game: Fun For the Entire Family Summary: 5 Stars
We love to play games with our children. It's a time for us to relax with our children and to have fun all together. But we've noticed that there are tons of games which are too hard for our youngest, and tons of games that are too boring for our oldest (not to mention us).
Pictureka was a gift from their aunt for Christmas and I've thanked her several times since we received it. I love that our 5 year old can look for and can find the pictures on the boards (and can win, as she did the other night!). This is definitely a great game for the entire family and one that will definitely be played quite often in our house.
Customer Review: Good game at a bad price Summary: 4 Stars
We got this game for my older daughter. The suggested retail price at Parker Brothers website is $22.99 but we were able to get it for $15 at a local discount store and I'm sure I could have bought it for under $20 at another store in town as well. It's disappointing that the prices here are so high right now! The website for the store where I bought it is selling it for $15 so I wonder why Amazon can't get a vendor with a more reasonable price on this item! I love Amazon and they are my go-to site for toys I can't find anywhere in town but sometimes the prices for the secondary vendors are outrageous!
Customer Review: All consuming Summary: 5 Stars
Our whole family played this game for three straight nights over the Thanksgiving holidays. We had 6 to 9 players at different times from age 7 through their parents and the grandparents. Everyone enjoyed all aspects of the game. It becomes very engrossing and competitive. Even the
spectators enjoyed the excitement vicariously, especdally when everyone is looking for one item at once.I highly reccomend this game for all ages.
It really encourages your powers of observation. It is so cleverly drawn
that is is fun to just look at all the items and people on the boards.
