Toys and Games Reviews of Original MemoryCustomer Review: Classic Summary: 5 Stars
This is a classic that can be used in so many ways as a child ages. My grandson is two and is having some problems with his speech / language development. He picks out four or five pictures and carries them around with him. We name the pictures, the colors, and his toys or products in our home that are similar. We go find those things too. We find the matching card and I say, "Look there is another one that is the same. They match!" We have a ton of fun with it. We have started playing the game with just a few cards at a time out. I can add more as he gets older and his attention span increases.
Customer Review: Originals are better. Summary: 4 Stars
I am a toddler teacher in a daycare center and bought this game to use with our older 2's who are in need of a cognitive challenge. I only use a couple of sets of the cards at any time and don't expect that a 2 yr. old will be able to play the game the same as a 4,5, or 6 year old could. It is a great game that helps to sharpen memory skills as well as language skills and I think it is a better investment than any computer game ever will be. The only thing is that the cards will eventually get beat up from use but isn't that how you know a game is well loved?
Customer Review: Great game Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my 2.5 year old son because I remember having so much fun with it when I was a child. The pictures have gotten much better. My son is a little young to actually play the game yet, but we have fun finding the different pictures in the pile...plus working on vocabulary. Whoever designed the pictures, must have toddlers, because they are all pictures they are interested in like pizza, cookies, dinosaurs, puppies, monkeys, etc. Very durable for carboard.
Customer Review: A great classic for any age! Summary: 4 Stars
Memory is one of my favorite games from my childhood. I still have my original game from the early 80's and it is in great shape!(I'm 25 now) This game is perfect for days when you want to amuse/educate the kids or even just be silly with friends. I am picking up 2 sets today...one for myself and one as a gift for my older sister. I think anyone, young or old, would get a kick out of this game. And at this low Amazon.com price, it's a great deal.
Customer Review: A Classic Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great game for kids (and not too boring for the adults). It is one of the most scalable games. You can make the game about any length by getting out fewer matches. My only complaint is that the tray should have square holes so the pieces go in both ways. (They are rectangles like the pieces so the pieces don't lay flat if they are sideways.) This would make the clean up much easier for the little ones.
