Toys and Games Reviews of Nerf N-Strike Maverick - Colors May VaryCustomer Review: I hate this gun, sorry. Summary: 2 Stars
My dad originally got this gun for himself. First battle,it worked fine. Next time he couldn't get it to shoot. I eventually got it to work so he gave it to me. Then it started jamming terribly and the pump stopped working. My brother tried to fix it but the piece of junk just got worse.
Good points:
-rate of fire:this gun shoots fast for a little gun,but it can't aim well you pump and shoot fast
Bad points:
-capacity:it holds six darts. Pathetic if you ask me. It is harder to reload that gun than a CS clip.
-range: this gun shoots ok for range but not my first choice in a war.
-jams:this gun jams. Simple as that. The darts stick out and then the gun won't work.
-accuracy:How do they expect you to aim this thing as you shoot it fast??????
Overall,I think this gun is pathetic and is the last gun of that kind of Nerf I'm buying. Worst ever.Plain and simple.
Customer Review: A Must-Have for any Dorm Room Summary: 5 Stars
I realize that most of the reviews for this product are aimed for a different age demographic (and rightfully so), but I have to say, the Maverick was one of the main things that got me through my Freshman year of college. If you know are about to send off a college-aged kid or are putting together a care package to mail them, I am a firm believer that every dorm room or apartment needs at least one functioning Nerf gun.
The Maverick is small enough to fit on a bookshelf, and the suction darts are perfectly designed to stick to an textbook from across the room, or the back or an unsuspecting roommate's laptop. Although I hugely recommend this toy as fun and easy to use for its appropriate age group, I can't hope to express the hours of stress-relieving fun I've had after bringing mine to school. Truly, it is amazing how much happiness this $15 dollar toy can bring a group of homesick freshmen.
Customer Review: Nerf Does it Again Summary: 4 Stars
As Nerf guns go, the Maverick is one of the best. It shoots in the upper range (35 ft.) of Nerf guns. It's a revolver (though I care little for asthetics). It's accurate and comfortable to hold. Jams are rare and almost always caused by not inserting the darts all the way.
I have modifided one of mine so the barrel comes all the way out (easily done, only requiring the sanding of two parts). Other modifications are harder than in other guns, (supposedly) because the mechanism that rotates the barrel is hard to put back together. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, as I have researched, but not applied, that knowledge.
The durability is commendable. The Maverick has resisted several drops, with no chipped plastic or such.
Please note that it won't work with clip system darts. As the cheapest Nerf gun as of the writing of this review, it is well worth the price.
Customer Review: Best Nerf gun you can get for under ten bucks Summary: 5 Stars
A great gun. I just love the way it looks and feels. It can be a teensy bit hard to load quickly though; the cylinder doesn't swing out very far, and you have to use a finger on the other side to keep it from moving back into the gun. But that's a small nitpick. Because of the way it works, it can jam when fired point-blank, but that's easy to fix. If you get this gun, do yourself a favor and buy a pack of extra darts at the same time. Unless you're a neat-freak whose house is totally devoid of crevices and gaps, you *will* lose darts. The range on the gun is pretty good; the darts can go about 30 feet (though you have to angle the gun up a little to compensate for their quick rate of fall relative to velocity). Oh, and the gun is very rugged -- mine's been tortured a fair amount and nothing's broken on it yet.
If you've never had a nerf gun before, this is the perfect one to start with.
Customer Review: very good gun Summary: 5 Stars
The Nerf Maverick Rev-6 is a GREAT nerf gun. It is so much fun to play with. I'm 14 and I love it. I own three of them and my dad loves them to. The most fun thing to do with them so far is target shoot. Make sure the targets you set up will get knocked over when you hit them solid. They seem to be pretty durable but I've only had them for one day.
Pros:
Easy to reload
Great range
Easy to cock
cool look
Cons:
Sometimes it will misfire or shoot a dud (dart that travels 3-5 feet)
One of my three guns doesn't reload correctly. The cylinder does not come out at all when you press the release button. Thankfully, you can reload the gun without the cylinder coming out.
Overall it is a great gun and the fun factor is off the charts.
If your looking to get into nerf guns or want a good handgun, BUY
