Toys and Games Reviews of Nerf N-Strike Firefly REV-8

Customer Review: False Packaging
Summary: 3 Stars

The package on this product would indicate that the entire dart glows, but the glowing dart is a product of wrapping stiff decals around the dart and it is the decal that glows. This makes the dart less stable in flight and increases friction as the dart exits the chamber, reducing velocity and consistency in dart trajectory. That said, it is a decent toy and a nice complement to the Rev-6 model. It can be fired without the batteries, whose sole job it is to "flash" the chamber every three trigger pulls to "charge the darts before flight. It is nice to find lost darts around the house by turning out the lights when the fight is over.

Customer Review: Awesome toys for all levels
Summary: 5 Stars

When I got it out of the box, it was great! I quickly learned that the darts it came with didn't shoot that far. So I bought a package of 10 sonic micro-darts. The aerodynamics are better so they shoot farther. Don't out them in all the way, let 2 centimeters stick out. When I shot one flat, it goes a little past 20 feet. When angled though, I got a lot to go past 40 feet! Accuracy is still great! The only downsides are the reload time, and the little orange thing on the barrel, that only allows you to shoot 3 sonic micro darts at a time. Oh yeah, there are 4 ammo holders on either side of thee gun! Overall a great gun for any age!!

Customer Review: Okay toy
Summary: 3 Stars

It is OKAY toy. I think the reviews I read was a bit overly appraised. A day after one of the two I bought has problem already. It has 8 slots for darts but 3 out of eight slots have problem. Every time my [...]loads(pushes in towards slots) all 8 darts, 3 of them will pop right back up. It doesn't load darts securely. And like it says it is for 6 years or older. In order for you to shoot the dart you would have to slide that yellow piece backward. And my [...]has hard time pulling that slide. And you have to do this every dart you shoot. It definately look cool and sturdy. also it will help to buy some extra darts.

Customer Review: Nerf has definetly outdone themselves again
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great Nerf gun. I got it about 1 week after buying the Nite finder IX-3. It is pretty much the assault rifle of all of the nerf guns. So far it is the only N-strike blaster that holds eight shots. It is the perfect I-am-about-to-jump-in-front-of-seven-guys-all-loaded-with-Mavericks. But for stealth I would rather perfer the Scout (which comes with the N-strike). The Firefly REV-8 takes you with the nite Finder to the ultimate gaming arena: THE NIGHT!!!!! It is awesome! The only thing that I didn't like was that it didn't come with a back strap. I recomend this product with a 16.5 out of 10

Customer Review: Cool idea, darts need reconfigured
Summary: 4 Stars

One thing you HAVE to know about this toy is that the darts do NOT glow in the dark by themselves. I really couldn't believe it when we had to actually put paper on the darts to make them glow. Thought that was exceptionally cheesy for Nerf. Not used to that from them. Anyway, the gun just fires in constant repetition, soars as high as the 24-foot ceiling and beyond, and those darts really stick once they've been dispelled by the gun. It's a ton of fun, no doubt there, but if you're playing in the dark, the light inside gives away your position. Other than that, highly recommend!
