Customer Review: A gun that needs some work, but it can be fixed.

The Firefly is an okay gun. Like the other reviews say "Instead of shooting 30 feet it shoots three feet" this is almost true but mine shoots an average of ten feet or less. Unfortunately I haven't found a cure for that but what I found was that the dynamics in the dart are very poor. My brother has a CS-6 and his darts are extremely accurate and shoot about 30 feet but they stink in his gun. So I recommend buying similar darts like the CS-6 has with your purchase. (I would keep the glow-in-the-dark stickers that come with the gun so when you get the extra darts you can put them on the darts so you can find them really easily.)
And back to the gun. The gun has a blue strobe light if you have two AA batteries that are NOT included. Lots of people complain that it gives your postion away, but it doesn't very much. In fact, I find it useful because when you play in the dark it blinds your enemy for a split second and they can't pay attention because it disracts them.
In conclusion I would buy it if I were you just as long as you do as I suggest.

I recently purchased this gun (ahem, yesterday), and i must say, it's incredible. It looks great and feels very sturdy. It's easy to grip and the trigger is very stable.
Now, the bells and whistles. This gun has a tracer in it. Meaning, it emits a flash of extremely bright light right before you fire each (glow in the dark) dart, so they glow very bright as they soar through the air. Very cool for night nerf wars. I haven't seen it myself, but I'm sure a nerf war using these guns would be glorious in a dark room.
This gun has a range of about 10-25 feet, typical of most nerf guns. The Firefly REV-8 isn't very accurate, unfortunately. But the cool tracer effect makes it worth buying.
All in all, this is a pretty average gun. If you want some cool gun to impress your friends during dark nerf wars, then this is what you want. If you're looking for a practical, accurate nerf gun, you're better off buying something like the "Maverick" pistol.

my brother recently got this, and it is REALLY cool! I think that ANYbody that likes to play with dart guns or anykind of toy guns should get one of these! Some people have said that using the stickers so that the darts glow-in-the-dark make them not go as far as without they are SO WRONG!! There is storage space for at LEAST 6SIX6 EXTRA darts on the sides, so once you run out you can reload quickly! If you put in batteries (I don't know what kind) then there will be a very brief and quick flash of light that comes form just BELOW the barrel of the dart gun, when I say brief I mean like less than 1 second! My brother and a couple of his friends did a battle at night and the only way you could see my brother (or whoever else was using the glow-in-the-dark dart gun because they were taking turns) was when they shot, but they always ran away from their previous spot! I was REALLY cool to watch from our balcony! Well, I hope this helps!

This was my first nerf gun. I was fairly happy with it, and used it for 5-6 months until I got two Mavericks. But there are a few things you should know before you buy this thing.
Range

The Firefly gets decent range, but it's not all that impressive. You'll have to angle the gun A LOT to hit a target from more that 20 feet, but you can easily fix this by removing the air restrictors or replacing the spring.
Durability

I'm not so sure about the durability of this gun. I had it for 5-6 months, and used it constantly. It was VERY hard to cock after a couple monthsfor some reason (Maybe from sitting in the garage?).
Fun

This gun is REALLY fun. I used it for a REALLY long time and never got bored.
Overall

It's a decent gun, but you might be better off with a recon or a maverick.

i give this nerf gun gun 4 starts,
this gun is a good nerf gun by nerf gun standards
the glow ammunitionis kinda stupid theres no need for replacement darts becuse the glow idea is useless it will only give away your position
and can anybody tell em wher ethis gun fits on the n-strike thing?
next this gun isnt a asualt rifle kinda weapon its being held like a machine gun its a semi auto gun with a rifle but thats got a eight round cylinder
and a 8 round holder
and its range is weak good power from 20 feet
but only usefull for 10 feet and maybe from a elevated position
a good buy for 20 bucks if your new to nerf but theres just better guns out there with teh same purpose
and probaly cheaper
and yes this guns in my main aresenal becus eits a intinmidating gun and itll do the job

have fun and this uses micro darts
