Toys and Games Reviews of Nerf Dart Tag Hyperfire Deluxe 2 Player Blaster Set

Customer Review: Nerf Dart Tag--A lot of fun; but could be better
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my twin nephews for Christmas and they were estatic when they opened the box! They have also had a lot of fun with it since.

Pros:

--The toy guns that come with it are a great value.

--A fun game that can keep two kids busy and not sitting down at the television set.

--I felt it was a neat and unique gift, versus a lego set (which are great too), Nintendo DS game, etc.

Cons (and recommendations):

--The vests that come with the set are kind of "cheap looking" They really should cover the person better. It is just a little vest type thing that goes over the head and connects with a string-like thing that has velcro at the ends. For larger children this can be a problem and it really doesn't even cover the full upper body whatsoever. It only covers the very front of the chest and the back. So if the children are hit on the side, it wouldn't count (unless they are VERY honest).

--Be sure to have your children wear the glasses to protect their eyes. The guns do seem rather powerful.

--Definitely purchase an additional set of darts. There are only a few that come with the set.

Overall I do recommend this for a nice gift that will be used for a little while. It could definitely be improved upon as far as the vests go. But the dart guns alone are worth the price.

Customer Review: Not for teens, but great fun for little kids and moms too!
Summary: 4 Stars

O.K., I didn't give it 5 stars, because I can't see the teens pictured on the cover of the game enjoying this game. I think they'll get bored in a hurry, and the "protective" glasses are too small for their big heads anyway. However, I would recommend the game for 4 to 10 yrs. old.
I got the game for my 4 yr. old boy, and he loves it. At first, he had a hard time loading the darts, but, now, he's a pro. He and his 9 yr. old sister have a grand time being spies and shooting at each other, but his favorite thing is to shoot at me, as I'm doing my chores around the house. Hey, it keeps him busy, and I get my chores done. I wear a sweater, so that the darts stick, and he can count how many are on "target."
The darts feel like a slight pinch, not at all painful or bothersome for even a little boy. The vest isn't necessary, but I would recommend long sleeves and pants for the little ones. Also, absolutely no shooting on the head or face (ouch!).
I would recommend getting more darts, especially if the kids play outside. The darts are easy to lose.

Customer Review: Great family fun at a good price
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the Nerf Dart Tag for my seven year old son. He and I have had so much fun playing with this toy.

The glasses are cool and fit even my head. The vests fit my son very well and are okay on me. The bullets are great because they are durable and dont bend easy. They have velco on the tips which makes them stick and not hurt.

The gun itself is small enough for little hands but big enough for adult hand. The gun can be reloaded very easy and you do not need a lot of strength to do it.

I did purchase this item at the local walmart for $21.00 after Christmas sale.

I would reccommend the Nerf Dart Tag game to kids starting at six years old and up to 100 years old. Anyone boy or girl can do it. It is a great crowd pleaser and relieves stress. It helps your child with hand eye coordination and counting (the bullets).

I hope that this review helps you with your investment for yourself, friends or grandkids. I can only say way to go Nerf! We love it.

Customer Review: Paintball wars without the mess!
Summary: 5 Stars

This a good set for a couple of boys, as long as you have them wear the included goggles. This is really not for kids younger than about 7, as they may have trouble cocking the gun (the guns are not automatic, you have to cock them before each fire). The big guns hold 10 'soft' bullets each, they fire quite well, and are fairly accurate. Make sure you tell the kids to wear the goggles, to stand back far enough, and not to point the guns at anyone not in the game. The bullets can sting a little if you get hit in the cheek, I think boys don't mind this though. You actually get 4 guns, two of the 10-shot, and two single shot handguns. There are also two vests for scoring games, and the bullets stick to them quite well. It's funny to see the bullet rocket through the air and stick straight out from it's target on the enemy's torso. You know when you've hit your target! As stated, the goggles are absolutely NECESSARY, I wouldn't want to get hit in the eye with one of these.

Customer Review: Liberating
Summary: 5 Stars

So this pacifist mom who would not let her son point a stick at her and had "no guns" as a permanent answer to relevant questions saw this toy on Amazon, read some reviews and just couldn't resist. Gotta tell you, it beats the reviews. On more than one occasion over the past couple of days, we had a blazing battle between my 9-year-old, his dad and his aunt and uncle. All over the house, and quite raucous. I also liked the time when my husband and my son were stalking each other outside, around the house, with the idea that whoever struck the other's target first would win. It was hilarious to watch from inside. This was probably the most fun present we bought this Christmas. Tips: Wear the goggles, the only body part I would worry about would be a direct strike to the eye from close up. Also, if a dart lands on top of a wood stove, it will melt into a pitiful little heap. Also, darts stick quite well to wool.
